Got the slots cut more uniform. Decided to go with velcro. Bought some heavy duty holds 15 lbs velcro. Cleaned the boat side with rubbing alcohol. Sticks real good to the aluminum and also the the pipe insulation. Figured I'd try this first before I drilled two holes in the boat. Feels real...
Didn't have to buy anything. Remembered I had a couple of six foot pieces in my basement from insulating the water pipes. This was done quickly and not cut very well but it really works well. I'll carve out another foot long section and get them spaced properly. Good suggestion!
Need an idea for something to screw down so I can lay my rod tips in them. Below is my new boat (see rod tips) and below that a pic of what I used on my last boat. It worked great, I clipped off what I didn't need and screwed down the rings. Easy to just drop the rod tip into but looked kinda...
I found one on eBay for $25+$5 to ship for my 2018 30hp Mercury. The Mercury site had $123 MSRP and other retailers had it around $70. The eBay unit was brand new in an unopened package.
The instructions were fairly straight forward. Mount the spring with sensor device in two holes that were...
Got a new 2018 Crestliner 1660 SC with a 30hp Mercury. I have a trim gauge but the motor does not have the trim sending unit. I tried to Google/YouTube some install video's but no luck. I did call Mercury to get the correct part #. Perhaps I can rely on the install instructions that come with...
Got a new Crestliner Retriever 1660 tin rig. It's very short on storage but has the length and width I was looking for at 16' and 60" bottom and 85" beam. Got the landing net and paddle done with a tube for the net behind the bow deck and a paddle clip for the paddle on the stern deck. Got the...
Took a while but I found the perfect solution. Bought a $20 boat cargo net. Just installed it and works great. Holds the PFD's and since it's on the side, no floor space used.
I learned the net can be placed right between the running light and side to be out of the way. I am buying a cargo net to attach to the side to hold the PFD's. I took out the back seat as I fish alone. So I have the entire floor for whatever.
Thanks for getting me straightened out. Never thought of the structure issue. That and along with the warranty issue, not to mention the cost, it does not make sense to lower the deck. Actually went out this morning on my first fishing trip, last time out was solely to break in the motor. Found...
Have a new boat that I just put in the water this weekend. Like a lot about it but one modification I would like to make is to lower the front deck. It is raised 12" from the bottom. It's a panfish style boat. When I was considering new boat layouts, I wanted both seats to sit on the bottom but...
Just got my new Crestliner 1657 Outlook home yesterday and getting it ready to go. I knew before I bought it storage was going to be limited. I don't carry 14 rods and 10 tackle boxes, so not that big of a concern. But I would like to add storage large enough for my life jacket and cushion...
Recent history, bought a used 2000 Bass Tracker Pro Deep V-17 with a 82" bottom width. Great deal from a guy at work. Loved the stability but the deep V was not good for my style of bass fishing. The water line was too far from my seated position, I couldn't reach down far enough to lip a bass...
