    Slow leaks . . .ugh!

Man are these things annoying!!!! So I applied the 5200 last week and took the boat out twice. STILL have a leak!! I admit that I'm not looking for it thoroughly enough, but it still amazes me that it's taking this much effort to get rid of the thing. It's not as bad as it was--now only a cup or...

    Slow leaks . . .ugh!

Got some 5200 today, applied it to all the rivets and seams. Covered the boat and I'm gonna let it sit for at least two days, if not the whole week the product claims it takes for a full cure. Hope this does it. If not, I'll be going the bilge pump route. Was going to try to fix this boat up a...

    Slow leaks . . .ugh!

It definitely isn't condensation! I'll get maybe an inch or so of water in the very back of the boat for the duration of my trip, about 2-4 hours, and that's it. It doesn't necessarily make me nervous (I'm not about to take my boat onto bigger waters, over 1000 acres), but I don't like it at...

    Slow leaks . . .ugh!

The drain plug is fine, I'm certain about that--it's definitely the rivets. Maybe a bilge is the way to go? What is that 5200 stuff? I just used Loc-Tite, and it did nothing. And could someone explain to me how involved a process it is to rebuck the rivets? It's an older boat (1968...

    Slow leaks . . .ugh!

So does anyone have any tips for locating and repairing slow leaks? I've got a 12' mod V that's a whole ton of fun, except for the leak. It'll only take in about 4-5 cups of water or so, but it's really annoying. I've tried loc-tite, but I probably didn't do as good a job as I could have...

    Simple wiring question

Yeah, the FF just came today, Pirhanna Max 160. I'm pretty excited to get working on the thing, hopefully within the next week or two. So, how exactly do you run one wire from the TM to the battery and one from the FF? I'm thinking of just getting a really small motorcycle battery for the FF.

    Bass Books

Yeah, I loved Ike's book--funny, informative, and fast. (I can't stand books that seem to drag on forever.) He also seems pretty humble, honest about his beginnings and how little it takes to make him happy on the water. I'm thinking of getting Big Bass Magic, another In Fisherman book. It's...

    Bass Books

Anyone have any favorite books on bass fishing? I just finished KVD's first book and really enjoyed it. Also read the two In Fisherman books on largmouth and smallmouth--more scientific, not as much fun to read, but a lot of good info.

Who is your favorite Pro Bass Fisherman?

Yeah, I put my vote in for Ike too, with Rick Clunn second and Dean Rojas third.

    Simple wiring question

Thanks for all the advice. I am getting a new FF, should be arriving ina few days. Humminbird Pirhanna Max 160, good deal on eBay. I plan on posting pics of the whole thing once I finally get started. It can't warm up around here (southern NH) soon enough!

    Simple wiring question

I'm starting work on my boat soon and have what I think is a pretty simple question about wiring. I plan on having a transom mount trolling motor and a fishfinder, that's it, and wanted to know if anyone has some info on how to wire both to one battery. On an older post someone said all it would...

    Acadia Sports

Got the bag a few days ago. Like I said, it's huge. In fact, I decided it's just too big for my needs. I'm sending it back today. It's a decent product, pretty durable. One thing that needs improvement is the zippers. The zipper for the sunglasses pocket sticks every time. If you look up their...

    Sausage Recipes?

Are you making a raw sausage that you'll cook? Or a cured, dried sausage? If you're curing, you should definitely read up on the science of it, for food safety reasons. There are a few debates about whether nitrites are absolutley essential or even good for the finished product. That and they're...
