    Hummingbird 535

that's what I've been told also- not to have more than 1 on at a time.

    Hummingbird 535

well, went to BPS today and returned the 535. I wound up swapping it for 2 of the Eagle Cuda 168s instead. Though they don't have as many features and their size was a lot smaller, now I can have one for up front and another for the back. I read some of the reviews and a lot of people didn't...

    Hummingbird 535

thanks for the replies everyone. Just for kicks, I called BPS and talked with one of the guys there also. He said the same, that it should come on even if not in the water. I bought the FF back in April, but it's just been sitting in the shop still in the box. He said that they usually have a...

    Hummingbird 535

can it hurt anything if you have it on outside of the water for any extended amount of time? I played with mine for about 10 minutes or so in normal mode, then tinkered a little with the simulator.

with the transducer plugged in, I can't even get to any menus concerning temperature. If I unplug the transducer and enter a "simulation" mode, I get the full advanced menu like their manual shows. I did see the metal "dot" on the bottom of the transducer also, so that tells me that the...

    Hummingbird 535

Hi All, I just finished mounting one of these on my jon boat, but I'm a little concerned. According to the box and their website, it is supposed to include temperature on it. I've yet to have it on the water, but for the life of me, I can't seem to get a temperature reading- even in the...

    New 1436 Project

thanks everyone- It's been a very tedious project up to this point (I'm too much of a perfectionist). I'm almost to the point to where I'm ready to put some carpet down. I finished the bow for the trolling motor and I decked over the middle seat now. The weather is getting warmer so it won't be...

    New 1436 Project

Thanks for the replies, it took me a while to finally decide how I wanted to do it. As far as flooring, I'm going to be using 1/2" PT plywood. I was a little concerned at first that it would be too flimsy. I did some testing with 3 supports underneath but it had a little too much bounce in it...

    New 1436 Project

I'm in the process of decking out my Jon boat. I was a little uncertain of how I wanted to do it after reading some of the comments on stability. I finally decided on a decided on a plan and have finally started on it. After a lot of research, I chose to use aluminum angle as opposed to 2x...

    1436 Jon project kinda done

The boat looks great- I'm actually in the process of putting a deck on my boat as well. Quick question though- how did you add support from the angled aluminum to the sides of the boat? I can't seem to figure out the "perfect" way of doing that. Thanks, Nathan

    Deck stability

what about making the floor of the deck removable for drying (if necessary), is that the norm or should I make it permanent?

    Deck stability

As far as decking, I'm going to have angled aluminum bracing and either 3/4" PT ply or (2) 1/2" PT ply pieces mended together for the deck. I figured that adding a little weight to it won't hurt, but I don't want to over-do it. I've only had the boat a few months so I haven't fished out of it...

    Deck stability

Hi all, I've got a 1436 Alumacraft that I'm thinking of putting a front casting deck on. I've seen a lot of pics where others have done it but haven't read much on the stability of the boat afterwards. My boat has the standard 2 seats (rear, middle) and one "seat" up front. Initially I had...
