Hi Onthewater : Did you notice a reduction in noise with that air silencer . The previous owner removed all the sound deadening material from engine on my my boat so this thread caught my attention , The noise from the carburetor bugs me sometimes . I have tried to find the part you are using...

About 4800 rpm when the prop would suck air and then rev to 5800 instantly . Right about 26 miles per hr on the GPS .

The Roller idea can also be done with the thick walled PVC pipe . We watched the neighbors move a very large and heavy hot tub using the PVC pipes without any breaking .

Went out for a test run this morning and the RPM seems to be a little better but the prop ventilating is pretty bad , So I'm in the middle of installing that jack plate . It turns out the prop nuts I got from iboats were super glued together , I guess they have a prankster somewhere .

I'm not experienced with outboard motor rebuilding but do you think there is a chance the pistons are rotated 180 deg . maybe set the head in place to verify the location of the dome on the pistons ?

I received the correct thrust washer from iboat as well as a new castle nut that isn't very usable . The weather is improving so I'll get out on the water in the next few days .

Another update . I'm waiting on parts . The thrust washer from the old prop does not fit the new prop . I ordered new parts from iboats .

Be sure and get it checked out so you don't destroy expensive parts when using it . Electric motors have the magnets glued to the motor's case and when dropped or they receive a severe shock a piece of the magnet will chip off and then damage the armature when ran with the loose piece floating...
