    89' GameFisher 14' V MOD "Kinda Finished"

I actually sold the boat this past summer while out of work Banshee. but yes i did spend time on the front deck and being a big guy (6'1 260lbs) I was very cautious at first especially when it was windy or other boats wake were knocking me around but i got used to it quickly and found it quite...

    First build

build looks great so far. did you buy the alweld new? if so do you mind me asking how much you paid for it? ive been pricing out some 1648 tins over the last week or 2 and most of the companies and dealers wont list prices online.

    14' Starcraft Sea Scamp Mod

i just drilled out the rivets holding the seat in, all were above waterline i believe. seat and foam came out whole and no i never knoticed any difference in stability, the large lower deck kept everything rigid. check my build it was a pretty simple setup

Good luck on the boat. your plans sound somewhat like my last boat, though i removed middle bench completely for a large "deck" and added tackle storage where front bench is and battery/storage between bow and bench lets see some pictures of your first boat :D...

    Tracker 1542

like crispy said, the deck itself is what adds the most weight.. the stronger and more "efficient" your supports are the thinner Ply you can get away with. compared to plywood 2x2's and 2x3s weight practically nothing. Good luck on the build. post pictures, ive been contemplating buying a new...

Thanks the paint i used is just some rustoleum high heat paint since it was on sale at lowes. no surface rust yet, but i dont know how it will hold up over time. I would recommend a brushed on paint of some sort. something thick so water wont penetrate and start rusting Carpet i used was...

I was the idiot at the boat launch.

a flat roller may be a good option for you. this picture might make a little more sense. main keel and 2 smaller ones but mostly flat where the bunks support hull https://s6.photobucket.com/user/DriftingRz/media/2013-04-24_16-00-51_463_zps98cd601d-1_zps23cad867.jpg.html

The rear roller is set to support a good portion of the stern. The keel? That runs down the bottom of the boat. The hull rests on the bunks. And of course the front portion of boat is on front roller only

The eay you describe your trailer it sounds just like minr. I just prettied mine up recently. I did mean the actual middle roller. Rear supports some weight amd front is needed with the short bunks.. middle one just got in the way

I was the idiot at the boat launch.

some form of guideons are definately a help. with a vhull it can be a pain sometimes with rollers on trailers. i eventually took the middle roller off my trailer, because if i didnt pull the bow dead center over that 1 roller the boat would turn nearly sideways on the trailer. like some...

    Framing assistance needed

if your comfortable with a deck on a 12v I recommend going a similar route as mine. 2x3's are plenty strong.. may be able to get away with smaller if you use more wood i used the front and rear benches to support my framing with wood secured to the sides of benches with self tappin screws...
