Anyone ever tried mounting the motor slightly off-center?

I have thought about moving my outboard a few inches port-side to help level the boat out more when I'm sitting at the tiller. Has anyone ever done that?

    How much is a late 2000s early 2010s 15hp 4 stroke worth?

I'm trying to find one to buy, and just wondering what the reasonable price would be for one in good condition?

How do you screw/mount things to aluminum (such as seat base)?

How do you mount things to the aluminum, such as a seat base? The two options that come to mind is screwing directly into the aluminum or using toggle bolt/nut that is usually used for anchoring things in drywall.

8hp Merc starts great cold, not so much hot.

My 8hp Mercury four stroke starts on the first pull cold. After I stop, I have to pull about a dozen times before it will actually run. The close it gets to the starting pull the more and more it starts seeming like it is going to run. I've tried choke in and out. Once it is started the motor...

Any easy way to slow down trolling motor?

My Minnkota 30lb trolling motor works great. However, on my little boat, the slowest setting is too fast to leave on and slowly cruise the shoreline wile fishing. So, what happens is I end up having to turn it off and on, which is a distraction from fishing. Could I use a variable speed...

I'm gouging up the bottom of my boat.

I was actually thinking something similar; Take aluminum strips and epoxy them to the four or so protruding keels that run down the flat bottom. It would really on need to be four feet in length or so and only near the front part of the hill where the contact is usually made.

I'm gouging up the bottom of my boat.

When putting my boat in at the boat ramp, once the boat is in the water, I always just idle up to the ramp and let the bow ride up on it a little, hop out, and park the truck. I looked at the bottom of my boat for the first time in a while, and it is gouged up from doing this. Lesson learned. I...

Any way to just use one fish finder instead of two?

I was originally going to order a fish finder for the front of the boat and another for the rear for when I'm driving. However, I started thinking it is crazy to buy two of the same thing and use them within a few feet of each other. Has anyone ever figured out a decent way to just use one fish...

    Cheap switches/fuse panel?

I'm currently outfitting a 1442 tin boat. The "spirit of the build" is to do everything as inexpensively as possible. As such, I a looking for an inexpensive way to have switches and fuses for a bilge pump, fish finder, and nav lights. Any advice? All the options I have seen have been quite...

My 8hp Merc ran fine last week and will not crank this week!

I pulled the dipstick and oil/gas came squirting our. So yep, gas in oil. I drained the oil/gas, refilled it with fresh oil, and it cranked up on the first pull. I let it run for a few minutes and changed the oil again. I think we’re all good now. Can Ijust leave the fuel tank vent open all...
