Thanks for the info. I'm thinking about making a safety chain to the cleat on the bow so that if it does pop off at any point, I hopefully won't lose the motor. -- GH

I have a 1984 25xd and I just replaced the impeller last week. I bought the impeller at Gladish Marine in Paragould, AR. There's not much else to look for down there as long as the water pump works. The gear oil is also supposed to be changed yearly.
