Video Added to My Mods Page With Link Love for Tinboats.net

First thanks for the kind words. Yep it will reach the back seat it is pretty stretched out but it reaches. I am thinking of adding a second one on the other side of the front because they are only about 2 bucks and installing them is easy.

    Question on seating

Same bases I used in my boat. I have the front on 3/4s and that is fine. On the rear deck I used 15/16ths ply. So what I did was place a second square of 3/4s just a bit larger then the foot print on the base and attach it under the deck and then screwed the base into both the 15/16th and on...

My Custom Jon Boat Mod Project - FINISHED [MORE PICS]

Same as any 5HP would which is not fast by any means but no problems. I can't say enough good things about the motor, runs like a champ, starts on one pull and can go for **** near ever on 3 gallons of gas. Even after 1.5 years of storage it started with 2 pulls.

To deck or not to deck?

All I can say is I decked mine and it is much nicer now. I kept the mid decks really low. Have a look at my post on my 14 foot jon to get some ideas. Decks don't always have to be high to be functional.

My Custom Jon Boat Mod Project - FINISHED [MORE PICS]

On my boat with the amount of wood and the way I distributed it I have no problems. That said I don't consider it a three man boat any more. I took out three in it a few times before the mods and had no issues. My total weight add is just under 100 pounds so two people is now like three and...
