two 30lb trolling motors vs one 55lb

then it sounds like i have two options. Stick with 2 motors, 1 bow and 1 transom or add a fourth battery. I think I'll just stick with what I've got for now.

two 30lb trolling motors vs one 55lb

Decisions...decisions..... I might not add another one after all, but if I do, what would you suggest: connect one to each battery in my 24v bank and have all three trolling motors run off those 2 batts and use the 3rd for just electronics or run both of the 40s off the 3rd battery, along with...

two 30lb trolling motors vs one 55lb

I have a 55lb 12/24 up front already. It's good, but not as comfortable as sitting in the back for long runs across a lake.

two 30lb trolling motors vs one 55lb

I am currently using a 30lb Minnkota Endura to push my 14 foot v-hull. It's alright, but soooo slow. I fish mainly electric only. As I see it, I have two options: 1)add a second 30lb or 2)sell the 30lb and upgrade to a 55lb. I'm thinking BPS Prowler. I have 3 new deep cycle batteries. Two...

Running an LCD off an inverter

The inverter is intended for laptop use. Wouldn't a laptop be even more fragile than a LCD TV?

Well, three times out and no problems with interference. Proving, once again, that you can't believe everything you read on the interwebs.

    what kind of battery?

I have three Costco Kirkland Group 27s in my boat. They're dual purpose deep cycle/cranking 115AmpHrs. They are made by Johnson Controls(same company that makes Optima batteries) for Costco and will cost you a whopping $68. They have a 36 month warranty. I run a 24v trolling motor off two...

Running an LCD off an inverter

I want to watch college football on the lake once in a while! I have a 115 amp hour dual purpose deep cycle. It runs two fish finders (0.25A and 0.67A), a trolling motor (30A), and aerator (1.9A). I want to run a 15" LCD HDTV that draws 35 watts AC (0.30A). I have a 65W laptop inverter that...

    Introduction and first mod

As promised, here are a few pics of the underside of the front deck. The middle is supported by the 2x4s attached through the top to the 2x6. I used scraps of carpet to keep the pressure treated 2x4s off the aluminum. The sides are held up by the close fit against the side of the boat. The...

    Battery tray mounting?

I've only trailered it twice since I finished it, so I'm sure that's it. When I got to the ramp, and then when I got home, I could tell that the whole assembly had shifted quite a bit and chipped the paint on the bottom. I was thinking of using 3M 5200 to adhere two thick nylon cutting board...

    Battery tray mounting?

I currently have my 3 battery trays mounted to 2 2x4s that are just sitting in the back of the boat. I can hear them bouncing around when I'm trailering the boat. Without drilling holes, how have folks secured their batteries?

    Introduction and first mod

first use was AWESOME!!! Very stable, even walking around. Took on about a half to one gallon of water in 3.5 hours. You can't tell from the pics, but I hadn't painted the bottom of the boat, left it bare aluminum. I'll wait till winter, but I'll be bottom coating it with black Steelflex now...
