    Sea Ark 1652 tunnel jet?

I have a 60 horse prop tunnel 1660 and I can't even imagine only having 28 horsepower on it. With a heavy load I often wish for more power even with my setup.

    T-top

It looks good to me! Could use a few rod holders, though :)

    Another 25hp to 35hp thread

If you are still getting fuel despite the needle being screwed all the way in, it's likely that your needle or seat are worn/damaged and need replacing.

    Mariner eight, intermittent spark

Sorry not too familiar with your particular motor to know if it has CDI ignition or not. But most of the motors I have used have an electronic "power pack" that basically controls ignition. If it fails it can cause all kinds of crazy crap to happen, but so can a bad stator. Check for...

25 to 35 hp Johnson Powerhead

Roller on the timing plate should hit the arrow/notch in the plate right as the throttle butterfly starts to open. Baseline setting for the low speed screw is bottom out the screw, then back it off 1.5 turns. It's going to need more gas than that to run in a swift current without sneezing, though.

    Johnson 20hp primer vs choke

    My 95 Evinrude 30 has a primer.

    Mariner eight, intermittent spark

Are you checking spark on both coils? If no spark on either of them check to make sure it's not your kill switch that has failed or is intermittent. Generally you can just disconnect the ground from it to diagnose it and eliminate it as a problem. If it's not a coil and it's not a kill...

    Motor too big?!

    It'll be fine. I run a Johnson 30 on a Gheenoe Classic.

    Another 25hp to 35hp thread

The timing is pretty simple. I think there's a clocking ring with a notch on it. When the little roller for the throttle that rides on the ring starts to lift away from that ring the notch should line up right as it starts to lift off. Verify that but I believe it's the correct procedure...

    T-top

I've heard favorable reviews from people who have actually USED them. Every forum post about them is filled with anti-china bashing from people with zero experience with them. We're talking a few aluminum tubes welded together with no moving parts, and tons of quality stuff is welded/assembled...

Which of these 25hp motors would you keep and why?

Both are good motors IMO. I'd just keep the Johnson... because it's already mounted on the boat! I run the same motor and it's been reliable and easy to work on... hauls *** too. If you want to make it a 30 HP all you've got to do is some carb work. In like the late 80s they started rating...

    Air compressor repair or mod

For what it's worth, I've been using a Harbor Freight 24 or 30 gallon compressor for years without problems. I made sure to get the oiled version. I paid just over a hundred bucks for it and you can find a similar deal if you watch their sales. I wouldn't put much time or money into what...

    Pontoon Fishing. Why not?

They suck in shallow water, can't handle a chop, catch wind like a sail, and basically just do everything badly except for allow you to carry a lot of people.

How important is a jack plate on a prop tunnel hull?

Yeah I'll try putting some power to it and see what happens. I'm not going to put much if any money into repairing it that's for sure. It's a two wire setup so I imagine I just feed power to one or the other to make it go up and down.
