    1981 Fisher 15 ft

Looking good! I did a mod with a 1975 Fisher. (posted here) Looks like they did not change them a whole lot between 75 and 81. Look forward to seeing what you do with it.

In need of advice/ answers for my boat project, 1st timer

Steelflex is a good option for the bottom of your boat. It is a little painful to apply but it was worth it in my case. You can see it in my build and many others on this site. You also will not have to worry about leaks if you use it. Just noticed you wanted something "paintable" though...

1975 Fisher Marine Bateau 1438 Mod -**NEW PICS OCT 16**

Thanks for the compliment, haven't been able to log in for a while so I just saw it. I was lucky with mounting the rod holder. The side panels on my boat were perfect to rivet too, so it made it very easy. They are holding very well still and do not rattle. If not for those panels though, I...

    Vulkem 116

Has anyone ever heard of this product, or better yet tried it on an aluminum boat? My family is trying to fix up an old 10ft johnboat and I told them to take it to a welder first to fix the transom. (has 2 or 3 cracks in it) The welding shop told them no problem and they would put this product...

1975 Fisher Marine Bateau 1438 Mod -**NEW PICS OCT 16**

Thanks, it was painful. I did one thin coat, and then a thick coat. On both coats I would walk around the boat and brush out any runs until I could no longer do anymore. (when too tacky, but to the point that it wouldn't run) I also did the last coat in multiple sections. Sides of course...

New to me 1975 25hp Johnson

bbguy, I have the exact same motor. You can see my thread in my signature. I have went through several issues in the thread but a few more that are not in the thread so let me know if you have any issues. I don't know everything about the motor but there is a fair chance I have toyed around...

    1977 Fisher 15/38 project (updated 10/11/14)

I did not remove mine. I was able to bend it out of the way. (with a come-a-long) I used 2 pieces of plywood, after I treated them I put them back in separately and then glued them together once they were in. It was tight and a little painful but to me it was better than taking out the kneee...

    1977 Fisher 15/38 project (updated 10/11/14)

I replaced mine with those same sheet metal screws. I went and bought stainless (1 size bigger than origianl since some were a little bored out) Mine were same as yours, I had some that had the heads almost totally rusted off but it took 35 years to get to that point and almost none of the...

1975 Fisher Marine Bateau 1438 Mod -**NEW PICS OCT 16**

Yeah, I took a look at yours and it doesn't seem to have the panels that mine has. Mine had textured aluminum panels in those areas, and they covered pieces of styrofoam. They could be made pretty easily i would guess. They are just the same size as the opening and they have a bend on each...
