Great conversion! I bought a similar boat and in the process of flipping it but using it on restricted HP lakes until then. Do you have any pictures of how you made the base for your bow mount TM?
Are you rolling or spraying? I've found good results with implement paint oil enamel with their suggested hardener... Either a nice foam roller that will give a smooth finish more so than a reg roller and use ?petrol/penetrol? It can be bought from Home Depot and smooths it out even more.. Or...
Just wondering how does everyone cover their Jon boat ribs on the inside sides of their boat? I'm open to plywood or aluminum just don't know how to connect it at the top?
Also what specifically did you use for paint or the procedure before painting? After seeing yours I like the sheen and will not do the flat Lowe green on mine anymore. Does where your driver/passenger seat flip up for under storage?
Yeah I think it's to a 1.06$ a foot for the 1x1 and 1.26$ a foot for 1.5x1.5 that is 1/8th" thic.. Which is nearly 2 dollars cheaper a foot than every store where I live.. Now I can do everything I want with my boat no problem. I like the live well idea.
Are you doing marine vinyl or carpet...
Also for inside your hatches are you just putting in a thinner plywood? I have an 18' Lowe big Jon that is about to get a similar layout! I checked out the metal by the foot and it's definitely worth the hour and 45 min drive... Going to probably go overkill on a load just cause it's so...
Where are you getting your inserts at? Like that white trapezoid one.. I'd probably do all square to make it easier . How is the 1" angle holding up? Is it 1/8th?
how did you get the bass boat trim to stay? The stuff I have in seen in stores around me have this peel and stick adhesive..which I don't see how it will hold up to marine conditions as well.. Once I recarpet my boat I'd like to go with this around the perimeter of everything just to sharpen it...
Are the hatches just flat pieces of hinged aluminum or did you have the ends around bent/made with a lip for strength? if you have any pictures to spare
