Its hard to tell from the pictures, but the stringers in the nose are actually metal and I believe them to be factory. I am still alive and well thank you for your concern, I've done many boat conversions and this one is still my favorite, I actually still own the boat and fish it on a regular...
So more new stuff that i added to the boat.
Front pedestal seat, livewell, rod racks, and a trailer.
(I added the ruler.)
Picked up the trailer on Craigslist for $350, it was in really nice condition when I got it, but I did install a brand new winch, tongue jack and wiring harness...
Latest addition to the the boat...45lb thrust Minn Kota Edge bow mount with a custom made motor mount. For those of you who have wondered how to install a bow mount trolling motor onto a boat that only has a thin gunwale, this is one way to do it.
After test fitting the board, I treated it...
Bought this 14' valco off a guy on craigslist for $300, it was a little rough when I got it, but the potential was endless. It is 14' 6" from stern to bow, and it has a 65" beam. I put about another $150 and a week of work into it and I think it came out looking pretty good. The boat does not...
Thanks for the advice. The carpet that was on the benches of the boat was already on there when i got the boat, it was a bit faded as u can see. The new carpet is darker for that reason. But it was a flip project so i wasnt that concerned about it.
Its made by Columbia, there's another company called Olympian that also make a similar boat. They are all over craigslist, u can get a decent one for a couple hundred bucks.
I have no idea, all i know is it was heavy to begin with, I added about 150lbs to it, maybe 200lbs...with 4 people in the boat it was still able to get up on plane. I was towing it with a chevy silverado 1500, but i did tow it once with a GMC Jimmy V6 and it towed fine.
Thanks for all the...
This was a boat that a guy brought to me for a conversion, its the first time ive ever seen a boat like this one. We used dark blue carpet this time and i think it turned out great!
12' Olympian tri hull
Converted another 12' columbian. This time it was for someone else, not for my own personal use. I used a color of carpet that ive never used before, it was kind of a beige color, turned out pretty nice. Check it out.
Another cool little fiberglass boat that I "converted" into a profit.
11' Olympian
NOTE: All wood was treated and coated in a sealant before carpeting.
