Buy a tiller extension and sit in the middle seat.

I've read about people using a cutting board and industrial strength Velcro strips. Basically cut the board to size, attach the transducer and then use the velcro to attach it to your transom. Easy to relocate if needed and apparently industrial strength velcro strips work really well.

I'm currently using a 2008 6HP Tohatsu and have an opportunity to pick up a 2006 9.9HP Yamaha for a good price. Out of pocket cost would be around ~$300 since I would sell the Tohatsu to offset the cost. So my question is the extra 3.9HP worth the extra money? Side note, I'm completely...

Yep! Saw that video and was wondering if it's the same for outboards. Seems like everything is pointing towards passing on it. Not worth the headache in the future.

I have an opportunity to buy an outboard motor that was used as a kicker motor. I'm worried about the possibility of corrosion within the motor. Are my concerns valid? Should i play it safe and pass on it? Any tell tale signs of corrosion within the motor itself? Thanks!

I don't think we have non ethanol fuel here in CA. I'll look for some but I think realistically I'll have to use an additive. My plan is to use this boat twice a month all year round. So I don't think i'll need it, but will probably add it for piece of mind.
