This set up is my dream boat. My buddy has a Yamaha XLT 1200 I'm trying to buy so I can do the same thing to my Grumman 1649! Really excited to see the outcome of this build!

JMichael, I'm not really sure of the history of redmax but i do know that i started using the their trimmers 4 or 5 years ago, which was the first time I've ever heard of them, and I'll pick one of them off the trailer over the stihl and echo any day.

I use both stihl and echo and they both do the job. Stihl is a little heavy compared to its competitors but powerful and will last forever. Echo does everything a stihl will but seems a little lighter. Maybe more balanced? I do landscaping on many residential as well as commercial properties 6...

2x2 is starting fluid for a 2 stroke. It has a lubricant in it. If it was the carb wouldn't it not idle or start back up or any of that? once its ran it will start first pull and runs fine. But I don't know why i didn't think to check the plugs... I'm sure the 2x2 ignites at a lower temp than...

I don't think there is a choke. I have to twist the tiller to start then pull it. runs great when its started but just cant get it to start without a spritz of 2x2
