LDUBS,
Great minds seldom differ...
Had the same ideas. I was thinking about a pedestal seat, but my "lid" is too long to take advantage of additional support by going through the seat (under the ends of the deck) as support.
My main idea here was to get access to my gas tank (3 gal right now...
Thanks LDUBS.
My neighbor (Charter boat Captain) told me the same thing. Think I might change up the straps. It would make it more level as well. The straps are 3/4" drop and the wood it 5/8 so it is a little low when I drop the lid in.
OOppsie....
I thought I was being good while sanding all my edges before glassing but realized I might have taken a little too much off my edges.
Any thoughts on what I can use to fill this 1/4 gap all the way around my latch?
I had planned to just lift the whole panel out when I need to, but...
I'm running a Johnson 6HP on on a 12' tinner. Fastest I've seen on my GPS is 18.2MPH.
Typical day is 17MPHish. Plenty fast for me to get to my fishing holes along the river.
I do have my gas tank (3 gal) and cooler up front to balance the weight out.
I found a great deal on some 5/8" CDX...$25 a sheet. Grabbed a few extra in case I messed it up the first time {:>).
My templates worked pretty well. Once it was "close" I went in 2" from the gunwale and it dropped in pretty nice. Some of the cut-ins for the seat brackets were a little deep but...
I'm planning/mocking up a fishing deck on the front of my 12' tin and ran across this PVC / Composite material randomly.
Wondering if it's "strong enough".
Thank you so much for sharing this. I have a 12' 1960's SeaKing that I've been doing some rehab as well and love all the pics. I've thought about a livewell as well, but it seems I'm not catching enough fish each outing that a cooler (for adult beverages) can't accommodate...Just means...
Suicyderider - I have a 12' 19060's SeaKing. Just like this one. Been working on the floor (From middle seat toward transom only). I like your raised floor in the rear. Looks like a great place for a live well. Do you have any more "finished" pictures??
Ran across this as an option to upgrade the work "Table" I installed just to see if I liked it.
Now that the fishing year is over (Never Over!) I wanted to put something a little more solid than a couple pieces of cheap plywood.
I ran across a piece of left-over closet wire shelving. I had...
