I put the seat pedestal in a vise today and was able to get the pedestal off. Pain in the neck but I got them apart. Got to rethink it before putting them back together.

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I'm going to go w/ the 3/4 pin style, as Butthead made a lot of sense. I also have a raised pin style pedestal on the casting deck I installed, so overall it would look a lot better keeping everything the same.

Mrtoler, what do you mean when you say you might go with the screw in type? What types are these? maybe something I've overlooked.

I would definately take this boat over the 3 bench model. If you buy the 3 bench model, down the rd you will be trying to figure out how to modify it to make it more fish friendly. (putting in a flat deck, pestal seats, live well etc) if you can afford it, get it. I'm in the same boat you are...
