I just picked up a evinrude 6hp fisherman the other day for 100.00. The shifter has been broak and has Ben modified. I would like to find a new shifter handle for it and fix it back right. I wants to kick out of F gear at full throttle. I believe it has to do with the shifter being modified. And...

I picked this motor up a few days ago at a great price. It is a long shaft and I will be using it on my 14x32 john boat. What I would like to know is can I make it in to a short shaft?

Ok thanks. I cleaned the carburetor and pump changed out the gas put in now plugs and a new pump ball in the gas line. And it steal does the same old thing. Took it up the lake Saturday and I may go 100 yards or 500 yards it it just quits running. Chock it get it running again and put it in gear...
