1985 Smoker Craft 14 ft Facelift

Okay, so this is a quick glance at what my boat looked like Winter 2011 and what it came out of my garage looking like for Summer 2012. Here are some quick links to photos. Now (June 2013) I will begin electrical... This site made this possible... Thanks everyone for the inspiration! This is...

Electrical- Can someone take a peek (thanks)

Thanks gillhunter, Sorry I never responded. This was my last post before my boat hit the water in the summer. I put the electrical on hold and just hit the lakes as often as I could. I put my boat in storage for the winter and plan on doing the electrical when I pull in out in Spring. I...

Electrical- Can someone take a peek (thanks)

Thanks guys, its getting clearer. One last thing, how do you get a picture to show up on here without having to hit a link? Like Capt Ahab did above. I want to get started lining up my build. Its been nearly a year since I started. Thanks

Electrical- Can someone take a peek (thanks)

Boater 15, Im basically about to order parts, but before I do, I want to make sure I understand everything. You're saying that not every item is going to go through the stand-alone fuse block. The Cig socket and fish finder (Im only doing one now) are really the only items going through that...

Charged my battery backwards (by mistake)

Everything worked out fine. Ive had the boat out for two solid days since my post, and re-charged it twice with no problems. I did invest in a good charger (around $90) as compared to some really inexpensive ones I saw for around $25. Thank god. I did buy a 2nd battery to support the gadgets...

Charged my battery backwards (by mistake)

not sure how to check the voltage. I basically don't know much more than how to charge it. I did call the place I got it after posting earlier this evening and he was still in his shop. He suggested trying to charge it the correct way. I did, and oddly it showed as fully charged with green...

Charged my battery backwards (by mistake)

When I got home from fishing yesterday, I hooked up the charger but unfortunately hooked the Pos to Neg and visa-versa and walked away. This morning, it showed 100 percent, but the green lite was not lit on the charger (as it usually is). Have I destroyed my $100 battery?

Electrical- Can someone take a peek (thanks)

Thanks, I did go to Cabela's today, but because I really didn't have my act together, I decided Id order everything online once I figured it all out. its confusing when you have no electrical know-how at all. I do know what the neg block is, but I thought they were a separate item from the...

Electrical- Can someone take a peek (thanks)

First, let me say what a treat it is to be part of this forum. Ive never seen a nicer bunch of polite guys excited about one thing. My wife had no idea the monster she'd create by surprising me with an old row boat. I spent the tail end of last summer and all winter sneaking hours in my...

    1979 loweline superior v....again

Thanks, I actually placed my cardboard deck stencil over the plywood (my stencil has the floor joists drawn on it) and pre-drilled the screw holes across the entire deck. Once I carpet, I can pop the screw through the carpet and drill the recessed stainless screws in gently. I'll be sure to...

fused switch panel - trying to make a decision

Im at the point where Im plotting out my electrical in order to buy the parts. No matter how much I read, I find Im still completely confused. This thread was extremely helpful, but by the end I wasnt sure if the original parts list was going to be correct for me. Maybe Ill just post my...

    1979 loweline superior v....again

Quick question: I also opted for 1/2 in plywood. How far apart did you space your stainless screws. I thought maybe every 9 or 12 inches would work, but I figured Id ask. Naturally the less the screws the better the appearance, but the thinner wood probably needs more screws. Should I...

My new project - 12' Sears Semi-V *Pic Update 3/21*

Wow, really nice! Ive been working on my conversion since last Summer. I got my decking done but ran into some things I wasnt sure of. I have the same troller and the same-type bow (it angles up). I wasnt sure how to mount it. My boat looks like yours so Im following your lead on mounting...

    14ft Monark Jon Mod

I wanted to paint my old SmokerCraft white, and after seeing this, I did. Looks amazing. Starting on my mod soon but trying to plan things out before I start. I have an old Game Fisher 7.5 that I also want to paint white. What do I need to do to make that happen? Seems like the original...
