    Million dollar jon boat?

I don't have any pictures but I have seen a couple of actual million dollar jon boats. They are about 30 feet in length with a cabin and absolutely loaded with specialized sonar and dive equipment for inspecting bridge pilings.

1988 johnson 48 hp SPL missing - update

Sounds like a main jet in a carb is clogged. Take it out again and while running full throttle push in and hold the choke on. If it takes off and runs normal you know you have a fuel problem. I've owned 3 1988 48's over the years. Great motors but you need to run some Seafoam or other good...

    Jon boat stability

I've had my 1542 Tracker for 3 years now and have been very impressed with how stable this boat is. I have bad sometimes wobbly legs from back problems and stability was a major concern for me. The Tracker is much more stable than my 16ft Alumacraft Bass Boat. Most weight in the Tracker is...

    How Many Boats?

Funny this post should pop up. I was just thinking about this the other night and counted up to 23 of the boats I could remember owning. There are probably some others that have faded from my 52 y/o mind. Currently have 3 in the stable and I plan on sticking with these for several years since...

16ft Lowe Roughneck 1653vpt. 15 hp 4 str Merc very slow.

More motor, you need it. That boat alone is probably close to 600lbs. Isn't that boat rated for 50hp?

we have yellow perch in georgia???

I just learned last week from a post on another board that they are in Ky Lake now. They are considered an invasive species by most. Can't be nearly as bad as these dang Asian Carp we now have almost every where.

First attempt to Smoke a Turkey - This weekend!

I smoked a couple of boneless breast a couple of weeks before Thanksgiving as a test. They were OK but not great. Everything else I have put on the smoker has been fantastic and I always want more along with the rest of my family and friends. The turkey breast did not leave me wanting so we...

    Your Thoughts on 25hp outboard

Shortly after I purchased my Tracker 1542 in early 2011, I purchased a 1975 Evinrude 25 off EBay. Could not find one locally. I only used the motor 3-4 times and it never gave me any trouble what so ever and I still have the motor now. However with that said, I make some long runs on some...

Your ONE favorite rod that you own TODAY?

Well after nearly 20 years and at least a year after posting my favorite, it is time to change mind also. Cabelas had a great sale about a year ago and I had a bunch of reward points built up on my Cabelas Visa so I bought a couple of Shimano Clarus rods in 6.5 and 7 foot Mh weights. I have to...

    Tohatsu motors?

Make sure you have a Tohatsu dealer nearby first. I went through this last year and ended up buying a 20hp Merc online instead since the nearest Tohatsu dealer was 80 miles away yet we have a great local Merc dealer. Mercs can often be bought cheaper than the Tohatsu also due to Merc...
