    Conversion Plans- 1436 Tracker

I would mount the batteries under the front deck, in front of the forward bench. You are going to have too much weight in the stern with the motor, gas tank, batteries, and you. While on the subject of batteries, do you really need 2? Thats quite a lot of weight to be hauling around, if not...

    Prop recommendations?

I would try an 8" or 9" pitch to keep the motor in its powerband. If you go too high in pitch, the motor will be a dog, and you most likely will not be able to get on plane or have a decent holeshot.

How big is your gas tank?

I have a 6 gal. tank for my 1436 Tracker with a 9.5 HP Evinrude.

Nice score off of Craigslist. 15hp. Johnson.

Its a 1972 9222M 9.5 HP. She runs like a dream. It was free to a good home from the guy I bought my boat from.

Nice score off of Craigslist. 15hp. Johnson.

Pics: I think with a little bit of elbow grease, and some new paint she'll clean up nicely.

Nice score off of Craigslist. 15hp. Johnson.

Hey guys, just bragging about my score from Craigslist. I picked up a 1979 Johnson 15R79E 15 HP. motor from a gentleman recently. It shows very little use, but has some fading of the paint from sitting outside in the sun. The guy couldn't get it running because of a bad fuel pump, so it sat. I...

    Problem with 1969 Johnson 9.5

How old are the coils, points, and condensers in your 9.5? How do the plugs look? If the plug(s) are wet and fouled, you have an ignition issue. Something else to check would be the carb/ mag. sync. My Evinrude 9222 couldn't get out of its own way, before I reset that.

Deck/ Flooring Coverings: What's Your Experiences?

I am putting Diamond Plate Aluminum, with a coat of Cabelas Tuff Coat in the floor sections of my 1436 Tracker. I am not worried about it getting hot in the summertime, because I usually don't go barefoot in the boat. Don't want to find a fish hook that may have fallen out of a tacklebox the...

    Tracker 1232 with a Mercury 9.9?

I don't see why you couldn't fabricate a knee out of aluminum square and angle stock. Attach it from the transom to the back of the bench with through bolts on the transom, and self drilling/tapping screws to the back of the bench. The knee could look something like this: [---------] [ ]...
