    Mirrorcraft Purchase update

Here's my 1980 version of similar boat. They made 2-14' models. The one with wider beam had the 25hp max capacity. That power jack plate is on Amazon, by-the-way...

    Mirrorcraft Purchase update

I second the jack plate. That TH Marine mini would be great, another $800 but what the hey... Talk about being able to dial in performance... What water is this rig being used?

Attaching Seat Swivels to a foamed bench seat

I like the rivnuts; great idea thanks. Tool, SS rivnuts, & SS bolts $53 from Amazon.

Attaching Seat Swivels to a foamed bench seat

Boat is a 1981 14' Mirrocraft with original factory foamed bench seats. Have 2-Millenium seats mounted on 7" bar stool type swivels. I used SS sheet metal screws and need to tighten them every year. I've never liked that procedure and I'm looking for something more permanent. I remember a guy...

    Mirrorcraft Purchase update

Very, very nice. What size engine? Looks amazingly like my 1980 Mirrorcraft.

    Millennial B100 boat seats

Yep, great seat, I have the marine version and bolted to an Atwood non-locking swivel, bolted directly to boat bench seat. Wife is checking for pics, and will post if she finds any. Works great and can use it at the helm of a tiller steered boat only.

    Solution to EPA gas tanks

Take the EPA tank cap off and remove the little rubber check valve with needle nose. Takes a second and the cap will then behave just like a regular vented cap.

16' Multi-Species, deep V, river/bay worthy, lots of power... suggestions?

Ok, a 3' chop is optimistic. How about 1'-2' without beating you to death...

16' Multi-Species, deep V, river/bay worthy, lots of power... suggestions?

I'm scaling down from Grady-White and looking for the best of both worlds. Problem is I need a flat deck no front step up. So that includes utility boats. 60-75Hp tiller, 80" or wider beam, handle a 3' chop. This is what I'm coming up with: -Smoker Craft 160 Freedom TL -Lund 1600 Alaskan...

Existing motor mounting bolt holes in transom...

Bought a new 20 hp motor for my 14' Mirro-craft. The original motor was bolted on the transom. The new motor will also be bolted but the the holes will be 1" above the old holes. Can I fill the old holes with epoxy without loosing any strength in the transom?

Four stroke 25 vs old 2 stroke

Yep, I had the same decision. The wife was complaining about having to lift the motor, too loud, and shakes like a crack-*****. She went to use the boat and let the motor off tilt. I always tell her not to just drop it and, she almost went over trying to keep it from slamming against the...

    Tohatsu 9.9 to 20hp

I just took delivery of a MFS 20E EFTS. Not sure where the restrictor plate is. Yea, it seems to be the exact same engine. I'd make a post over at Marine Engine on the Nissan Tohatsu forums. There's a Tohatsu tech that answers most questions and seems to be very good. Be sure you give the...

    Alum vs SS prop 20Hp

Stocker is 10" pitch. What about keep the same diameter and drop pitch to 9 instead of 10?

    Alum vs SS prop 20Hp

Max RPM on stock prop is 5650. Engine mounted correctly 2-men in the boat. Trimmed to max. Spec is 5400-6100 RPM. Stock prop is 9-1/4" X 10. When trying to achieve max RPM drop 1" in pitch correct? Looks like a pitch change is the only option. Seems diameter is limited to 9-1/4" by most...
