    Trailering without powered help

Until recently I got wet all the time when launching and loading. Now that we've gotten some rain down here it's much easier. I keep a pair of high rubber boots for when the water is cold and a pair of crocs for the summer months. I use a line tied to the bow to pull the boat onto the trailer...

SeaArk Bayfisher 2072 Center Console with 94 Johnson 115HP

Hey Fellas, My buddy is thinking of selling his boat, and it's a 2001 SeaArk 2072 Bayfisher. It's on a trailer (good shape) and it's always been garaged. It's got a 1994 115HP Johnson on it, as well as a Bow-mount TM (I think it's a motorguide likely 50-60lbs) in good shape and a 30 Gallon...

    12' jon boat advice?

I think you would be happier in a 14' minimum with at least a 9.9 but a 15HP would be better. The V would be better in chop, but you could get away with either. You're both light enough for a 12 footer, but once you start adding gas, motor, gear - you will be close to max capacity. You will...

    Vermonster's 1972 RichLine Sportsman 14' V

Well I made it to the lake two saturdays ago, all for about an hour. I put her in and she started up just fine. I was letting the motor warm up while I loaded more gear with the choke out. After a bit she stalled, and I had all the gear on. I pushed the choke in and gave it a pull... that's...

    plywood deck coatings!!

I hit everything with Helmsman spar urethane as well - minimum 3 coats. I have an added waterproofing bonus with my carpet glue which is also waterproof - Henry's 263. It's great stuff!

    Aluminum bolts instead of stainless?

Ringo is spot on! I snapped the heads off of all of the stock aluminum bolts by hand when I was replacing my transom.

    Installing a floor

I did mine just higher than the ribs of the floor. It lays in there and isn't attached (mainly so I can clean/vacuum under it easily). I throw the battery on top of it while trailering just to make sure it doesn't blow out.

14' AT? Richline? Whatever. I'm getting there! Thanks guys

I'm betting that transom is original (except the badge). I see hints of blue paint on it I think which is what I had on mine. I kept my original and threw it in the basement (in case I need to ever replace it again - I have the perfect template). Mine is still listed on the GA DNR as a 14'...

    whats my boat worth

LOL you're kicking the hornets nest! Down here (Atlanta area) that boat with trailer would probably sell for 300-400 but it would likely get listed for 500 or more (IMHO!!!!). This is without the fish-finder. That you would likely want to list on it's own. What limits the value is the...

Help with Shallow V Floor framing

2X2's and 1/2 inch ply should be fine. Be sure to treat it though. That should help with the weight as well as the height. Welcome to the forum! :WELCOME:

    New boat project advice

I think the aluminum channel on top of the transom would work fine. I would actually run it the entire width of the transom - including under the transom caps (if possible). Basically I would just want to protect as much of the wood on the transom as possible (particularly the edges of the...

Anyone ever stain floor/deck on a alum flat bottom?
