Camoclad seems to have moved on to a bunch of other camo patterns. I dont see ANY Realtree patterns available on their website. Cost is pushing $3/SF plus shipping for Camoclad and some others.
For the replace option I'm looking at two 4"x ~16-foot patches or about 10.6 square feet. $32 fix...
Mini Project #69 - 1654 w/ roughly 10-year old camowrap overall great condition. Restore camowrap for a few more years of life. Note Fish/Duck Boat - prefer quick fix and roll (this one's not going to the boat show).
Issue is the Tracker tinboat hull side rib area where the camo-wrap material...
Well I'm done with the turf install on the Tracker- for future reference if you use Weldwood Contact cement on aluminum you dont need anything to hold it down over irregular surfaces. or press it down to cure If you let it "flash-cure" ~15 minutes afer applying to each surface (turf and boat...
Ideally you'd have a pretty good idea on the total thickness of the "several aluminum plates" you are riveting. That establishes the "grip depth" on the rivets you'll need.
I'm no rivet pro, but I'm replacing almost all of my deck rivets on my Tracker. They are loose enough to click-bang on...
Two observations:
1) It looks like the stringers "bridge-across" from the sides to the floor at the side/floor intersection. The original intent (dont shoot the messenger) may have been for these two side gaps to be the main flow channels for water to the back.
2) The floor looks pretty flat...
Help me out here Pappy, its my understanding the trim tab allows you to compensates for prop torque (the tendancy for a motor to turn one way or the other under power). That's not going to effect your ability to turn, just reduces the force needed to turn the motor - aye?.
I'm making final preparations to pply hydro-turf in a Tracker 1654 CC with factory aluminum floors and front deck. There are some monster rivets along the edges of the center consol at the floor. I'd estimate they stick up ~1/8-inch or more from the console flange. Anyone have any experience...
Looks like its coming together well.
Can you clarify how you attached the modified gutter bracket to the boat?
How did you make the smooth long cuts to the gutter?
Its a Merc 60 w/ standard steering cables. Left to Right-stop to stop it wont turn as sharp as my Yami 200 with hydraulic steering. Maybe thats just inherent w/ cable steering?
I've noticed that my ability to turn one way is very limited where the other side seems normal. Sorry, I dont recall if the bias is left or right. Is this a potential DIY adjustment or a qualified Marine tech. level repair issue?
My suggestion on grease is get the good stuff (high temp, water resistant) keep it in your greasegun and throw it at anything with a grease fitting. If it does not have a fitting, probably needs some other form of lube.
Im restoring/modding a rode-hard and put-up-wet 1654 CC with factory front deck and floor. Anyone know if the side panels that cover up the ribs are foam filled?
This rig could sure use some more below deck storage and the rear bench seems ideal for two hatches as a solution. There is a small...
Not to highjack your thread but have you checked the price on aluminum diamond plate?
I was going to use it to replace rotted plywood on my boat trailer side-steps last week and the plate quote was ~$370.
Yikes.
My thinking on small V's tin boats versus mod V jons is a little different. If I'm in water whipped up to the point where I'm getting wet, I need a bigger friggn' boat. I understand peoples attraction to the small V's but I'm taking the big boat if I'm on open water. When I'm on small waters...
www.greatlakesskipper.com has a motherload of OEM parts. Unlikely they will be specific to your boat model but they stock a huge array of stuff for retrofits at very competitive prices. I've had good luck finding quality parts there, suggest you just add them to your potential sources for...
Yup I'm with ya' on the time crunch. Getting dark earlier every day, the project boat is in the driveway so I'm having to work with mother nature and under work lights after sunset. Trying to get the Tracker 1654 modified as a utility Duck Gun boat. The neighbors love me. At least its not...
The control box will work, the challenge is how to keep the multiple LED leads from turning into a birds nest-particularly once you take the set-up on and off a few times. You will be able to use tiny wire and virtually any cheap 12V switchs on the box.
On my Tracker Tincan CC there is a nice...
