    My first project. 1963 Alumacraft 16' V

I recently sold the boat, but most of the measurements and cuts I made were first done with cardboard cut to shape and size, and then traced onto plywood. SuDZ

My Grandfathers 1966 Johnson 9.5 hand me down-hand me down.

Your right about needing a fuel pump. Not only was it shooting gas out from the front, but the plastic nipple that is supposed to head towards the carb was broken. I'll look into ordering one shortly. Looking at the picture online, mine was missing the metal gasket and screw in the front. Not...

My Grandfathers 1966 Johnson 9.5 hand me down-hand me down.

I'll have to find a draler around me, but I did pick up some lube and a pump last night at a marine store on my way home as well as some new plugs. I just tried it now to see if it woukd turn over but no go. When I pump the ball on the tank, it squirts out the front of the fuel pump. Pulling...

My Grandfathers 1966 Johnson 9.5 hand me down-hand me down.

Any suggestions on what weight gear lube I should go with for the lower end? I figure I'll give that a quick change and probably the spark plugs too.

    OutBoard Service Repair manuals

If you happen to have any literature for a 1966 Johnson Sea-Horse 9.5hp, I'd love it.

My Grandfathers 1966 Johnson 9.5 hand me down-hand me down.

Thanks. I'm new to outboards, so I'm just taking it slow and stepping through each process. I have a tendency to go "Let's go full speed on this and tear it apart in a whirlwind and figure it out later!" Since I want this to work out in the end, I'm forgoing that and think it will be cooler to...

My Grandfathers 1966 Johnson 9.5 hand me down-hand me down.

Well, I got a little time to play with it last night. I got most of the tiller handle back on and in place, but there are a couple of bolts missing. I'll have to pick up a few so that I can tighten it up and figure out the linkage. Thanks for the tips, I'll keep you posted.

My Grandfathers 1966 Johnson 9.5 hand me down-hand me down.

My mothers father bought this Johnson new in 1966 (MQ-12A) and used it around local lakes with my great uncle. My grandfather passed away probably 25 years ago or so when I was probably 7 or 8, but my Great Uncle is still around. Sometime in the 80's, my parents had a little trailer at a...

    My first project. 1963 Alumacraft 16' V

It was actually very comfortable with the setup we had. I had a crate with tackle boxes and about 7 or 8 rods on the floor in the middle and he fished the front while I fished from the rear. We were each able to stand and fish without really minding what the other person was doing, a couple...

My first Boat - 12' 1963 Starcraft Pram

Got out on the water for the first time. This was actually a bit after we started unloading, but my father and I were able to catch a few smallmouth and have a good time.

    1996 16' Lund Laker Project

How does that laker feel in the ocean? I'm across from you in Falmouth a lot and have taken boats out into Buzzards Bay for years, never a tin though. Does it get pretty rough out there in it? How far out have you gone? Thanks SuDZ

My first Boat - 12' 1963 Starcraft Pram

I was given this trailer recently and it needs some work. One of my main concerns is the tongue. It was once overloaded on a trip when the previous boat on it was used as a landscaping trailer one day to transport flowers. It has a twist in the tongue that makes me a littler nervous. I wasn't...

My first Boat - 12' 1963 Starcraft Pram

I got my floor cut out and installed. I need to screw it down into the ribs still, but I have the ribs locations marked, so that will be easy enough. I'll get around to it the next night or two. SuDZ

I was given this little "gem" after dragging it out of the woods.

My first Boat - 12' 1963 Starcraft Pram

I haven't yet. This was actually supposed to be a winter project, but one thing lead to another and I kept moving along. I dug out a trailer from the woods the other day that's going to be the part 2 of this. I'll have to put up a picture of that shortly. SuDZ

My first Boat - 12' 1963 Starcraft Pram

Does anyone think I could safely remove the middle seat? As seen in the pucturess, there are ribs every 12", and there are ribs underneath the seats as well. Is the seat structural at that point? SuDZ
