    Shimano Stradic 4000FG

It's an O-ring about 2" in diameter that fits on the main body of the reel. The spool slips over it sealing the bottom of the spool, but it causes a lot of drag. It's not the drag adjustment on the front of the spool.

    Shimano Stradic 4000FG

My Shimano spinning reel schematic shows a rubber friction ring. Mine was missing so I bought one and there is no way it will fit on my reel so I left it off. What is the purpose of this ring? Why would the spool need friction? Thanks.

Would a 15 HP upgrade help my situation?

I had a 1989 Evinrude 15hp on a 14' Gregor. Was a great motor and planed that boat in a hurry and I weigh 275lbs! I'd look for one of those. Plus they are very light weght.

    LINE TWIST

Hello everyone; Just got back from the Sierra Nevada mountains trout fishing. When trolling I got more line twist then I have ever had. Was using Thomas Bouyants and spinners. Tried no swivel, with swivel, nothing stopped it. 6lb mono line. I think I spooled the line on correctly. Please help!

    TRAILER BRAKES FOR A TINNY?

Do you think trailer brakes are worth the trouble and expense on a tinny that weighs about 600- 700lbs, trailer and motor included?

    LOOKING FOR NEW BOAT

I'm looking for a new boat that is a little more coomfortable than my 14' tinny. It still needs to be light(under 2000lbs) because I tow with a Ford Escape rated 3500lbs. Would like to spend under $5000. Any suggestions? I trout fish around the June Lake area in the Sierras'.

    TOWING CAPACITY

    Hip waders

My dock has a raised bridge that goes out to the dock so you can't pull a line over to the dock. You would hve to pas it around trees and poles and all kinds of stuff. By myself the boat has to be started and driven to the dock. If anyone out there fishes Puddingstone Lake in Southern California...

    Help with prop selection...

I understand your problem. Make sure your tach is correct. Even if it's right at idle doesn't mean it's right at full throttle. My engines won't idle at 550 rpm so maybe the tach is off.

    Hip waders

I would hate to run my aluminum hull up onto the concrete.

    Hip waders

PSG-!. That's a good idea. So the boat is not resting on the concrete ramp and I can walk down the now dry trailer to get in. Is that the idea? At my boat boat ramp, it's not pssible to pull the boat over to the dock with a line. It has to be powered over to the dock.

Hello everyone; I don't know if this belongs in the trailering section or not but here goes. Where I launch if I'm by myself I have to wade into the water to get in my boat start the motor and drive it over to the dock, tie up and then go back to the car and move it off the ramp. My question...
