    My Redneck Crossbow toter

I did not want to spend $$$ on a +bow case only to have it take up deck space and bounce all over, trip all over. So I improvised and the result is a functional, secure bracket that isolates the bow/scope from shock in chop when my boat pounds. I bought a piece of PVC 4x4 post cover at Home...

    Whopper Plopper

I have one in each size and they cast/perform nicely, very strong hooks. I think the large one might be good for reaching out to schooling fish. https://www.river2seausa.com/topwater/481-whopper-plopper-130.html

    Home made canopy ?

I'm thinking about making a bimini type folding frame out of plastic 1 1/2" electrical conduit or sched. 40 pvc. The supports would be 7 and 8' w the bottom of both hinged together @ the same point. I'm hoping to have 8' of coverage when it is up and use lightweight tarp material for the top...

Epoxy in the guide on my new rod

There is a drop of epoxy in the guide on my new 7'6 H casting rod. It makes the inside of the guide have a slight flat space. It is the second guide from the reel and not on the rod side of the guide so I don't think it will ever have line pulled tight across it, but I'm wondering if the epoxy...

    Motorguide loose steering

I have a MG FW46FB from 03. It lost some ball bearings in the lower/shaft race years ago and I replaced them w some free ones from a bike shop. I have a slight bit of vertical slop in the shaft and plan to tighten the top nut a bit. My issue is the footpedal/motor will flop back and forth when...

    Seat base R&R

The 7x7" pedestal seat bases on my 03 G-3 are rusting out. I can possibly replace the brass inserts, but some of the SS base screws won't get tight. I assume I could install larger screws to get them to set tight to the deck? The original screws are 2" and I assume screwed into the wood under...

    Mom's BIG Bass

My 73 yo mother caught this hawg a few weeks ago.... ....I spoke to mom and dad the next day, they were on the speakerphone. Mom told the story of the big fish that hit a magnum Pop- R just after dawn. It bit near the boat and surfaced right in front of her, shaking that big mouth trying to...

    Shakespeare Excursion

I got this 7.0' , 2 piece, med. action graphite spinning rod @ wallyworld for a grand total of $20.24. It has a stiff/sensitive action, stainless guides/rings, 6 to 12lb., 1/8" to 5/8" and feels like a great rod so far. Will fish it soon and report back..........

    Offset seat base plate ?

My 03 G-3s 7x7" seat bases are shot, bronze bushings/baseplate have corroded. I'm thinking adding an offset base would work better, moving the seat backon the rear deck where the old, centered base is too close to the front edge of the deck/cockpit if you're seated facing the bow. I wonder if...

Mounts or racks to hold Crossbows...

Anybody have any ideas or made one? I'm gonna try to fab some system to hold 2 Xbows vertically to the side of my boat. I'm thinking pieces of alum. channel screwed to the floor w some firm padding to hold the stirrups and another on the side of the boat to hold/clamp the foregrip w velcro.

    Road Runner Bang Shad

Picked up a few of these a while back and they are great baits. 2 paddletail jigs with small gold hammered willow blades under the jigheads and a V wire connecting them like a Beetle Spin. With the extra weight of 2 jigs it casts great even w a wind and w a larger head on the bottom it swims...

    Unwelcome visitor

Followed the dog to the backyard to rub some shedding fur off her and spied this viper 15' from the bottom of the deck steps and 5' from where she squatted to pee as I stood there barefoot wearing shorts!!. It was a little more than 2' long. I caught it by holding it's head down w the flat side...

    Penn Fierce spinning reels

Anyone own them, do you like them? They seem to have decent reviews. I've handled a few and they seem a little heavy but well built and a smooth drag.
