    I think most small aluminum boats have a 1.5" thickness. I just did mine using 2 3/4" marine plys glued and screwed together.

    I have a 14' Grumman aluminum that Im putting a front casting deck on. My question is there a seat that would go up on a pedestal while fishing and lower for when moving?     How did the spar varnish work out? Im thinking of returning my west system epoxy due to cost ($85) and going with the spar. How long will 6 coats last?

    OK let me narrow it down some. If I wanted to make a front casting platform and have 1 bench seat already, how would I support it in the far front? Do you drill into the boat for supports or ???? Thanks in advance. Bob
