    Electrically sound

If I move the transducer a foot away from the motor all is good. I'm thinking that must be the source. It's also the battery charger but I took that off. I guess I'll try the after market tm harness from minn kota. Minn Kota says to connect negatives from the tm and starting battery together?

    Electrically sound

I've been plagued with noise on my new graphs. It became manageable when I ran a bond wire front tm skeg to the negative if the starting battery, where my graph power comes from. The starting battery neg. is connected to the tin hull thru the big motor while the tm is not. However the tm...

    Sizing a Trolling Motor

I've got a 17ft. aluminum with a 55 maxxum and it's ok for what my fishing style, no current, but if I had to buy a new one it'd be a 24v 80lb thrust just for the heck of it. Crud, I'd buy one now if I could figure out moving the batteries up front. I'm dubious the 55 would move me around...

    G3 1756SC "inside hull"

There are multiple versions of g3 1756's so you might want to include a pic of exactly which one you have questions about. Mine has hatches with plastic bins that can be removed for access.

CMC BA 130 on Alumacraft 1648

I had a 2008 Crappie Jon with a jack plate, t@t, 20 hp for several years. That's a riveted boat and never had an issue with rivets.

    Repair holes from transducer screws

I'm changing out the transom transducer and want to install a polymer mounting plate over the old screw holes and mount the new one to it. I'm afraid if I just refill with new screws and silicone it will make the plate bulge. What's the best substance to fill those holes? (only can reach them...

    Trolling motor wiring questions

I had this guy make up my cables....long runs and the short one from the battery to the breaker. I used what he calls "surface mounted" breakers. You can look at his or google some prices. He'll crimp on good connectors with the stud size you want. Good service, good price IMO. If it was me I...

    attach rack for light trolling

I have a 2008 1756 dlx gator jon and want to rig it for some type of trolling for catfish. The flooring in the back seems to be some type of plastic….I’m afraid that screws under any pressure would just pull out. Any ideas or examples would be appreciated. (I’d also be interested in how you have...

    tm plugs

I use a cb in the back like this one for disconnect: https://www.ebay.com/itm/VLYNX-VCB60-Minn-Kota-Comp-Trolling-Motor-60-Amp-Resettable-Fuse-Circuit-Breaker-/301777826687 and use split bolt connectors straight wired at the front, no plug

repair tears on G3 deck covering

I have some small tears in the liner (boat is not carpeted) that I want to glue back down. The fabric will be glued straight to aluminum but that stuff is pretty stretchy. What should I use that won't eat up the material later on?

    Kipawa Trolling Motor Prop Review

Thanks for the post...sounds to me like you're using less amps. I went from a motorguide 55 lb, 12v variable speed to a minn kota maxumm which is 55 lb, 12v variable speed and it may be sturdier looking but it sure doesn't have the speed of the MG, maybe 20% slower. I'll try the prop you did...

    Circuit breaker for trolling motor

I thought Minn Kota says 50 amp for 30 lb thrust motors, you might want to recheck that rating, can get a 50A for 10 bucks or so at Walmart or Academy Sports. With a transom mount I'd try a 40A. No voltage drop and keep your connections clean it should work just fine.

Battery at one end of boat, elec. motor at other - wiring?

https://www.skingco.com/wiresizechart you will likely need to call the motor manufacturer to get the max amps, not the same as thrust

Minn Kota slower than motor guide

I thought the 2 blades where faster on gas motors too. No corrosion on the connections but the minn kota is likely 25% slower than the MG was. Could rpm, could be pitch but I don't see it addressed on the minn kota website. It moves ok for casting but wide open is not even close....like crossing...

Minn Kota slower than motor guide

I just switched from a variable speed 12v 55lb thrust motorguide to a minn kota same specs but the minn kota is much slower. It has a 2 blade prop where the motorguide had a 3. My craft is a small, light 16ft. aluminum and I don't need a lot of umph to get it moving...would rather have more top...

    Ranger and Tracker deck extensions

I saw an older ranger in Cartersville with the same deck extension a few years ago and I figure you did it as well. Ya'll, you have to see it to believe how much bigger the deck is. Massive
