    Best source for Bimini top

That is pretty much exactly I what I want to build. Looks awesome man! Do the brackets come tapped for the bolts to tighten the pole connections or did you do that yourself?

    Best source for Bimini top

Any tips on making it collapsible? It will definitely need to be removed for trailering. The smaller the top can be for transport the better.

    Best source for Bimini top

Thanks Shaugh I will see if I can't get something on paper. But basically it would like the pic with the three way corners and flat top, except the front and back would extend out beyond the post. Kinda like a t top with a wide base, except the anchor points would be oar locks. It would have...

    Best source for Bimini top

Very helpful sir thank you. I think I can come up with a solution for my boat using this. Kinda leaning with a sort of t top like in your earlier pic, but fastened via oarlocks instead of foot plates.

Do you have any close ups of how the conduit fits and connects into the oar locks? Thanks

It looks like it would be easy to make a canopy frame with those fittings. How is it attached to the gunnels though?

Thanks so much man. The one on the boat tied up the the dock would work best for me I think. There is no center seat in my boat.

Shaugh, this looks amazing! I hate all the straps involved with a Bimini, but I was willing to accept it because taking the 2.5 year old with me greatly increases my opportunities to get on the water. Please send me all the info/pictures you can on your top.

    Best source for Bimini top

I took my 2.5 year old fishing today for the first time... he did great, but got hot so we had to fish in the shade which really limits my options. So I'm looking for a 4 bow Bimini. ~60" beam. 54" or so tall. Who has the best deal out there? Thanks

    Motor skipping after trolling

I put seafoam in the tank as the stabilizer. The stabil I had was over two years old anyway. It's cheap for my boat because it sips fuel, but on a large engine, particularly a two stroke, you would go broke buying seafoam trying to keep it at recommended levels.

    Motor skipping after trolling

I wound up running a 2:1 gas to seafoam mix through it for appx an hour on the muffs. Then ran the carb dry and put in new spark plugs. The old ones looked disgusting like ones from a two stroke. They did not look like this prior to seafoam (a little carbon tinged but not covered in ooze like...

    Preventing rattling

I wound up making a bracket a of 1/16" angle and riveting it down as close as possible, and then gooping down the loose end.

    Motor skipping after trolling

I have a 2009 Honda four stroke 20 hp manual start that was bought used with low hours. It has performed flawlessly, other than being a little cold natured (take 3-5 pulls to start first time). I always have run non ethanol 87 with marine stabil added. It unfortunately sat for three or four...

    Overwhelmed by paint selection!

I'll do a sample board of my paint schedule once I pick up the primer and paint. I think I could find a scrap or two of aluminum around here...

    Overwhelmed by paint selection!

Here's a couple I have on my phone. Most are on my camera (will do a proper build thread when done)

    Overwhelmed by paint selection!

Thanks Johnny The silicon is from GE. 100% silicon and paintable. Not the acrylic blend stuff. https://www.lowes.com/pd_180781-72643-LW7001_0__?productId=3172089#BVRRWidgetID It's there now, no going back. I haven't seen the drylock masonry product with grit. I will look into it. What...

    Overwhelmed by paint selection!

It's looking more and more like getting the paint done before the trip is not going to happen... So on the positive side it's less of a time crunch. A rushed paint job is usually a bad paint job anyway. So here's my plan after my trip unless someone tells me I shouldn't: - clean thoroughly -...

    Overwhelmed by paint selection!

Very helpful Johnny thank you! So it seems like the aluminum primer may be better than the self etching primer, especially since there are a couple of areas that are bare metal adjacent to exiting paint (where the old benches were removed)? I've looked around some more online and can't really...

    Overwhelmed by paint selection!

I'm almost ready to paint. I've got some bare aluminum that has been sanded with 100 grit and then some with pre existing paint in pretty good condition. This is all inside the boat, not painting the outside. I picked up two cans of rustoleum self etching primer today. How much will one can...

    hatch pulls

I am making my hatches by making the frame from 1" aluminum square tubing, and then pop riveting a skin on top of that (same way my deck is constructed). I had planned on using nylon webbing (seat belt material) and doubling it over, riveting to the back side of the tubing to make a pull...
