    PVC gutter bunk cover question

    I used a vinyl post cover 4"x4". Less than $15. Cut it in half slip over 2X4 bunk and use stainless screws into the sides. It's been four years and they are still fine. Boat slides nice on them.

    What people said above - but give it an acid wash, then neutralize with ammonia / baking soda if you intend to prime / paint. I don't think any aluminum "brazing" is structural. You need to weld, preferably TIG if you need a structural repair

    Point is with aluminum boats don't have any "gaps" to bridge. Keep everything aluminum or marine grade 316 stainless steel [using tef gel]. Not hard to do. If you use galvie, steel, brass, bronze, copper for any fittings you are asking for trouble. Nothing will bridge a gap in a marine or...

    5XXX+ series is marine use aluminum. 6+++ series $$ and less malleable. 1/4" is very heavy for a 14 footer. Hull is only 0.10 " I really like your project. Great job.
