    New member, new project...

I had it hanging about 2" below boat bottom. It grabbed all the weeds I can tell you that. From looking at your intake, I would say that you need to grind/sand those side pieces down so you have a seamless flow of water entering your pump. It looks like there is too much restriction going on...

    14' Polar Kraft Jet Project

All I did was get a piece of 1/4" aluminum, grind one edge to a knife edge and then cut slots in it so when I slide it up inside my grate it would fit. I then tig welded it in place and called it a day. I will try and find pictures or it to show you. This time around though, I beat the boat...

Good looking build so far. I had the same issues with my boat (same size as yours) till I made a home brewed loader grate for it. Cavitation was CONSIDERABLY cut down and hook up was unreal. However, I did loose a couple MPH with the grate. Was at 44 before and then dropped down to 41...

    14' Polar Kraft Jet Project

Well I tell you all what...this has been a pain in my rear and one of the looooongest unfinished projects of all time! I changed positions at work and was brought into management. That alone took each and every minute of my spare time away. After a while of that, I came back to a basic tech...

    Alumacraft Jet Jon Project

One of the reasons I have centered everything in my boat. I will be runnin solo most of the time so the 16g fuel cell, steering and engine are all dead center of the boat. Hows your spoon or spork commin?

How to make this floor flat?

My floor looks identical to yours. What I am doing is adding 1.5x1.5x1/8 aluminum angle across all ribs like you have shown in your photo. I then added more horizontal braces in-between the original ribs and then I will be adding center supports running parallel with the boat. Kind of hard to...

does anyone have this little harbor freight trailer?

I bought the same trailer a few months back to build my dox box trailer with. Putting that thing together is a PAIN to say the least and like you said, it seems like nothing fits like it should. One thing that I did that I STRONGLY recommend with these trailers is that once you get it all put...

Custom Tandem Axle for my 14'er

My trailer is a tilt as well. My goals for right now are to finish up the boat so I can actually use it and then buy another trailer to play with. I am currently keeping my eyes peeled for a small trailer that I can tinker with to see if my idea is even feasible. I may buy me a couple new...

New addition to the SeaArk plus couple big stripers

Very nice! Good looking stripers you got yourself there as well.

So I have decided to weld it, one way or another. I rebuilt the boat to do it right since I didn't the first time and I dont want to start cutting corners now just to fight it later. Also, my bilge pumps came in. Will be running dual 750 gph pumps, one on either side of the ski hull in the...

    Alumacraft Jet Jon Project

Im glad you got her smoothed out. I have been thinking of getting a loader grate but not sure yet. Will see how my factory one works now that the ski hull is sank deeper into the boat. Keep up the good progress.

    14' Polar Kraft Jet Project

Im still debating. I know that I need to do something other than just the rivets. I do have a couple packages of SS 8-32 bolts that I was just going to use to bolt everything together with countersunk heads but still not sure. I have a couple days before I can get back on it so the next few...

    14' Polar Kraft Jet Project

New bildge pumps came in, will be running a 750 GPH pump on either side of the transom. Also found a buddy at work who had a lincoln mig that I can borrow and set up for aluminum. This will make everything so much easier and stronger in the long run. Should have some photos up soon.

    Alumacraft Jet Jon Project

I know that I could not stop cavitation in my boat with how I had it set up before (intake dead even flat with the bottom of the boat). I added a little scoop fin to the rear of my factory grate and it helped out a lot but still, like you, anything with a ripple in the water would cause...

jet boat carnage (whos got pics)

Dont have any photos, but on my jet jons second shake down run I was cruising down the river in a wide area and was coming up to a place where the river made a slight curve to the left and narrowed in to about 1/4 of what it usually is. As I came into the curve, I let off the throttle a little...

    14' Polar Kraft Jet Project

Thats what I was thinking about doing...but I have issues with trusting other people to work on my things haha. I have done it before but like said, it was thinker material. Whenever I needed to weld aluminum, I just always used the TIG at work. I have a welding shop by my house and will prob...

    14' Polar Kraft Jet Project

So hopfully in the next couple of days I can finish my floor supports. Problem is, I am not trusting the pop rivets to hold tight for very long. So, I was thinking about welding all the joints for added support but would have to ARC them since I dont have access to an aluminum MIG. So, has...

Open venting your tank shouldn't matter, my tank is vented to atmosphere without any issues. One thing to check, and I know this sounds dumb, but check your spark plug wires to make sure they are all 3 securely connected to their boots. When I first dropped my 750 into my boat and fired it up...

Didn't use marine grease on my bearings. Uhoh?

All I have ever used on my trailers, any of them, has been the red Timken. I have yet to have any issues with it. If you dont run the bearing caps then I would differently get a set from wal mart and stick them on. They help keep the elements out of there as well.

Well I hope you get it figured all out. Are you running a triple pump or the factory single? Also, what year of ski did your 750 come out of?
