    Transom Plate/Pad

Are you filling the holes with the 3M marine caulk to fill up the gap? Seems like a no-brainer to do this to save the transom wood inside and out... especially when the transom wood is not easily replaced. I have seen some metal plates for this application, but cannot find anywhere to buy, hence...

    Transom Plate/Pad

I know this is just like cutting board material... https://mud-skipper.com/accessories/transom-pad.html Anyone use something like this (bolted through hull + 3M5200) on their boat? Application is bow mount trolling motor or <10 HP outboard.

    Removing end caps from rollers

Hot ****, what a great idea!!

    Removing end caps from rollers

If I can get the caps off I'll likely go that route to just replace them. I do like the cotter pin long term... not sure my ability to drill the hole though.

    Removing end caps from rollers

I should have been more clear, can I get the rods at HD/Lowes? What are those called?

I can get these at HD or Lowes?

    Removing end caps from rollers

I was thinking of this, and then can I just replace with a standard bolt+nylon lock nut?

    Removing end caps from rollers

How do I (easily?) get the end caps off to replace the rollers from the trailer? I don't have a pic readily available. It is not a bolt and nut, it's almost like one of these hammer on caps for a kids wagon or something - but seem much harder to remove.

Sanding aluminum rail and other non-painted surfaces

I think I am going to give this a run... https://www.mothers.com/02_products/05100-05101.html#&slider1=20 Not really looking for mirror finish, I figure more elbow grease = shiny, less = less shiny. We'll see.

For the Golfers on here good deal for starter set?

This is me. Seasonal hobbies. I struggle with the good at many, great at none thing. I don't have the focus or obsession or whatever it is to do 1 or 2 things. I also think about stories of Peyton Manning that I have read. Morning, noon, and night, 24/7/365 the guy was all football. Constantly...

Best way to work on the inside of the boat?

Suburban development living doesn't allow me to have a nice outbuilding like that. Boy, that would be nice.

    Torn down trailer, rebuild correctly

Enginerd and Earl - thanks guys. Very helpful.

Best way to work on the inside of the boat?

Wow, really like that tire idea. I have some saw horses that you can cut 2x4 legs at whatever length you'd like. But stability can be an issue without side to side bracing, etc.

Best way to work on the inside of the boat?

The idea of a "sling" didn't cross my mind. I assume there are people working on boats for which they do not have a trailer... Possible right? So what do they do... Nothing? Go buy a trailer before doing anything? If that was the best answer, a sling, then I would like to consider that. I...

    Torn down trailer, rebuild correctly

I have reason to believe, reading many of half-baked articles, that my trailer was not setup correctly when I bought it. - Bow eye above the bow roller (multiple sources say roller above eye) - Bunks fall short of the transom (should be flush or extended past) - Keel (actually "spool") rollers...

Transom "cover" or "rail" - rebuild, replace, fix?

Got a PM about the brazing rods, watched some youtube vids, that'll be the route I go. Seems like a good option and will work well. Thanks everyone, wonderful site, wonderful input.
