Same problem here. Have trolled out of a lot of flat bottom aluminum boats. Trolling is much improved in windy conditions when motor is moved to front. Lots easier to pull in wind, rather than push. Most transmon mount motors heads can be reversed.

I have read where some parts of california will go lead free with bullets. Copper bullets are taking the place of lead. This must be true about lead weights also.

Bet some of the members have seen a white mercury. Owned one on a 1959 cutter boat with cable steering. Learned my lesson early on. Anyone else own a white mercury. This was own my first outfit and was a lesson well earned. The cutter had fins on it like cars of that time period.
