I have the chance to buy a 9.9 for my 12' tin boat. Is there any advantage in horse power/torque with switching to a 2 stroke engine? The 8 runs fine but seems to need more power. What do you guys think?

My 8hp Honda (BF8A) ser# starts with BZBC-(1300xxx) There was a decal on the hood from Don's Marine in Lodi Wisconsin. Anybody here know about this motor? Kind of an odd number for a Honda. The dealer in Canada has no listings with this number so looking up parts is really hard for them.
