    Sealing leaky rivets and seams?

And the west system Epoxy works really well with a heat gun. It things out and creeps into where it needs to. I’m impressed so far. Just getting started. But yes my leaks, I replaced three more rivets. Did some 3M – 5200 betting on the inside. Then I will follow up with the west system Epoxy...

Glad I checked…she leaks a bit at the front keel.

    Sealing leaky rivets and seams?

Yeah I get it, but IMO, neither is a great option right now. My boat is 100%gutted. Outboard is off and in storage as are all my batteries.(3 of them) It’s also the dead of winter and all boat launches in a 1 hour radius are closed/frozen up. Even if they were open I’d have to weigh it down...

    Sealing leaky rivets and seams?

Thanks. I forgot to mention I replaced a lot of rivets and rebucked the rest. I wanted to leak test at the lake but winter came and I thought filling the boat with water would use a literal ton of water and thought it would be a bad idea to put that kind of weight on the trailer and weight on...

    Sealing leaky rivets and seams?

Hey guys, I’m rebuilding a 16’ Starcraft Super Sport and I’ve got a question about sealing leaky rivets and seams while I have the boat upside down. I’ll preface by saying I’ve used Gluvit on the inside rivets, but I’ve since decided to paint the bottom and since I didn’t have a chance to leak...

    Stolen, stripped, recovered...FINISHED.

Looks like it was and will be a great boat again. That sucks that there are lowlifes out there that you had to encounter. I hope your insurance company didn't screw you. Gate looks great too. Hook it up to 660volts at night for extra security...ok, maybe that's excessive.

    Mod or build new?

Thanks. The thing is, I want a deep and wide body. I've been polishing a road apple with this 12' and all the 14's around here appear to be the same variation of narrow-ish hull, just a little longer. (Same unstable boat??) If I build, I'd like it to be be similar to this, which I cannot afford...

    Mod or build new?

So my 12' conversion is a fail. Not a real fail, just not as good as I hoped. Too small and tippy and I only raised the floor a few inches. I'm going to use it on a few small water bodies and let it go in the spring, so the new debate is what to do; Build a new, custom boat or modify an...

    Trolling motor hook up

Perfect, thanks. I have a 30 pound Minnkota trolling motor that just hooks directly to a battery, no circuit breaker. But because of the electronics (?) in the pedal controls I wasn't sure if I needed it. Actually, I looked at the pedal as I was writing this, and it appears that there is a...

    Trolling motor hook up

Hey all, I was given a 28lb thrust bow mount Motor Guide trolling motor recently and I'm just setting it up It came with the 3 prong plug and receptacle, but bare wires directly after the plug socket. I was going to extend the leads and add lug terminals but I am wondering if I need to...

14 Foot FOREMOST VEE-BOTTOM by JC PENNY??

I totally agree. I don't like how they are gross polluters, but I run mine on biodegradable mix. I'm going to do a full resto on my 58 QD and put early 60's internals in it which will allow me to run 50:1. I know some people run them 50:1 already on synthetics, and I read somewhere that OMC was...

14 Foot FOREMOST VEE-BOTTOM by JC PENNY??

They are great motors. I wish mine was electric start as I use it on a 50's plywood runabout with a front cockpit. PITA to restart on the water

14 Foot FOREMOST VEE-BOTTOM by JC PENNY??

I have a 57 18hp and a 58 10hp (both non electric start) and there isn't a ton of weight difference. I'm going to speculate that your boat will handle 15 hp as a tiller control and more with remote steering. I'd be comfy with an 18 on it. I run a 10hp on my 12', though that is considered...

    Trailer refurb

Hey, I just noticed you are in S. Ont. Not sure which side of the T dot you live on, but there's an even better trailer supply than P.A. called Cerka in Milton. You pay less than their listed prices if you pick up at their location.

    Trailer refurb

Great looking refurb. Sharp looking boat too, what model is that. I really like the colour. What are the boards for on the transom? Trolling motor mounts?
