    Input/Suggestions on smoothing ridges

Hey Dale, is that yup that it must be on top of paint, or yup it can be painted? Thanks!

    Input/Suggestions on smoothing ridges

So I ordered a tube of this stuff, it states that it needs to be applied over paint. Has anyone tried applying primer to it and then painting it? I’ll do a small test bead of it on a strip of sheet metal and report back but was curious if others have painted this stuff (once cured of course)?

Any Licensed Electrician in the Durham Region (Ontario Canada)?

I suspect it’s such a little job for them and they didn’t run the 60A line, that there was minimal interest. Or, they’re just busy wiring the 1,000,000,000 townhouses going up all around me!

Any Licensed Electrician in the Durham Region (Ontario Canada)?

I need an electrician to hook up my hot tub to an outdoor panel that has 60A service supplied to it. I keep getting the run-around from local guys I’ve spoken to or they just disappear from communication and won’t say why. I’m not a difficult person or asking for free work or anything, so I’m...

    Input/Suggestions on smoothing ridges

Hi Gang, I’d like your thoughts and/or guidance on how, or what, I should use to smooth ridges between Aluminum pieces before priming/painting. For example, once I reattach my rub rails, there is about 1/16” height difference between the rail and the deck of the boat. I want to smooth this...

    STARCRAFT SERIAL NUMBERS

Dale, just curious, by having him send you his plate, does that mean you can make or get a new one made up somehow?

1973 Johnson 65hp...what do you think?

Thanks for the advice! I’m gonna do just that and hope for the best! I didn’t think of a bottom end pressure test, good idea! There might be (honestly I need to investigate it further) a CDI conversion kit available, which I would assume is fairly reliable and less money than the replacement...

1973 Johnson 65hp...what do you think?

Nope, not the electric shift on this outboard.

1973 Johnson 65hp...what do you think?

I’ll be pulling the flywheel this fall, but I’m pretty sure that black goo isn’t oil. It’s more of a tar-like substance that has hardened.

1973 Johnson 65hp...what do you think?

From a visual standpoint, the outboard looks to be well maintained... Third pic shows the leaking resin from the stator.

1973 Johnson 65hp...what do you think?

Hi Everyone, I recently acquired a Johnson 65ESL73R outboard motor and controls. It came on a boat I bought. I’ll start off with what I do know: 1. It is a monster and heavy! LOL 2. Each cylinder has 130psi compression 3. Stator is leaking black goo 4. Parts that are still available are...

To much boat for my vehicle?

Great advice BigTerp. Additionally, I was informed by my auto insurance that if an accident were to occur and a claim was made, if it is determined that the payload capacity of the vehicle was exceeding vehicle spec at the time of accident, any claim or coverage would be denied. Usually folks...

    My 2nd boat project - 14ft Alumacraft Semi-V

Looking great so far! Most of your boat looks near exact to my ‘57 Deep C (minus the bow cover). Everything else looks pretty much the same (brackets, stern corner braces, splash well, bow hoop (whatever it’s called)... How’s the back end sit in the water with a four stroke on there? Lower...
