Roll and Tip- what am I doing wrong

I waited until the boat was shaded to put on a second coat. It worked better.

Roll and Tip- what am I doing wrong

I’m using a 4” foam roller. It turned out better than what i thought. I’ve done 2 coats and have enough paint for a 3rd. I’ve got my daughter rolling and I’m coming right behind her so it’s not drying as fast.

Roll and Tip- what am I doing wrong

Thanks ! I went to the hardware store and asked the paint Dept what I needed, I bought a fine bristle brush and he too suggested to thin the paint. I thinned and used the fine brush but it seemed to dry really quickly. It was sunny and the tin was getting pretty warm. It was the 1st coat, so...

Roll and Tip- what am I doing wrong

I'm using Rustolium topside paint over self etching primer. I've sanded the primer with 200 sandpaper. When I roll and tip. There are still brush marks in the paint. I'm barely running the brush over the paint. Am I putting too thin a coat on? This is for the 1st coat. Will I need to sand...

    Primer questions

I will probably use this https://www.rustoleum.com/product-catalog/consumer-brands/marine-coatings/topside-paint/ About half the price of the total boat.

    Primer questions

I've got all the metal on the topside sanded and primed with the self etching primer. I was going to paint with Rust-Oleum. Do I need to put another regular primer coat down before the Rust-Oleum? Thanks for the help.

Thanks Dale and lcksts. Should I be looking for SS 316 or is there a better grade?

    Rivets vs Bolts for Transom

I'm rebuilding the transom on a Tracker Deep V17. It originally had bolts going through the transom and I was thinking on using rivets instead. The Phillips heads of the bolts got all chewed up and we're a pain to get out. I was looking at replacing the with hex head bolts or the closed end...

Tracker Pro Deep V17 Side Rails

More tear out. The previous owner put more plywood (non-coated or painted) over the original. The foam was waterlogged. It’s going to rain all weekend so I’m not sure if i will get more done.

Transom pitting on Lowe deep v

I've got the same problem. Do you use brazing rods to fill in the holes once cleaned out? That's want I was planning to do.

Tracker Deep Pro V17 Transom Thickness

I had planned on using epoxy resin, so how much will the epoxy add to the width of the boards. I assume 1/2" I good and the epoxy may add 1/16"?

Tracker Deep Pro V17 Transom Thickness

Tracker Deep Pro V17 has a channel the transom fits into. It is 1 1/4" thick. I was thinking on using 1/2" plywood epoxy resin'd together with fiberglass cloth sandwiched between the sheets. Then covering all sides with fiberglass cloth. Is this overkill? How thick is the fiberglass...

Can you use the old decking as a template and use it to drill the new rivet holes?

Tracker Pro Deep V17 Side Rails

I plan on putting a nonslip flow coat on and putting the rails back on. I'm not a big fan of carpet.

Tracker Pro Deep V17 Side Rails

So, i figured it out... I started taking working on rebuilding the transom. You have to take the back side rails and inner rail off to get the transom out/in. While i was doing that, i took all the rails off.
