    1990 16' Lund Rebel Special

Beautiful work. The early 2000 yamahas are fantastic motors, but I think you're going to love that EFI Suzuki! I'm in your neck of the woods and I'll be sure to wave if I see you out on the water. Sent from my moto g(7) power using Tapatalk

    Cupping a prop

Just curious, Zum, why so intent on running with the outboard raised as much as possible? I'm not criticizing, I wish I could run with mine up higher. I'm on my second prop this duck season. Sent from my moto g(7) power using Tapatalk

    HP Rating, Displacement and Performance

Thanks, guys. Todd, that's fascinating info and exactly why I asked. My current outboard is the 498cc Yamaha that you mention, and low RPM torque is part of what I'm looking to gain. My hull, gear and humans during fishing season totals 950lbs. Hull, gear, duck blind, dog and humans during...

Quick Question: Switch Panel and Fuse Block -- With or Without Neg Bus?

The Blue Sea Weatherdeck switch panels are very well built and the most weather resistant panels I know of. Fuse protected, with a red/green backlit label. Not as cheap as some of the imported stuff on Amazon, but better quality. New Wire Marine also makes really good stuff. Sent from my moto...

    HP Rating, Displacement and Performance

How do outboards of the same HP rating perform when one is a detuned large engine with more displacement vs a smaller engine that is tuned to maximize it's output? All other factors being equal, will a 30HP outboard with 550cc perform like a 30HP outboard with 750cc? If not, how will performance...

Access hatch to fit a 6 gallon tank

I'm looking to move my fuel tank forward and store it under the bow deck in a 2000 Smokercraft Lodge. The access hatch on the deck isn't large enough to fit the tank. Does anyone know of a commercially made hatch that would fit such a tank. Tank dimensions are 21.5"L X 14.24"W X 10"T. Here's a...

Prop Pitch Recommendations - need help

Isn't your problem a poor hole shot/slow to plane? If so then go to a lower pitch prop. You'll lose a bit of top end speed, but the boat will pop up on plane and your motor won't need to work so hard. I tried all the online pitch calculators I could find but I load my boat heavy and no...

Prop Pitch Recommendations - need help

A tachometer would be a big help. Look into Tiny Tach models. 40 bucks and easy to set up. If the motor feels bogged down and is slow to plane it's likely you'll want a lower pitch prop. I'd guess the 8 inch pitch would be perfect. You'll lose a mph or two at WOT but you'll be much happier with...

    1971 Starcraft refit

Where are you located, 1Vhull? That kind of aluminum boat layout; wide open floor plan, vee entry to five degrees deadrise at transom, deep sides, combing gunnels, is very popular in the Pacific Northwest. I wasn't familiar with this style until I moved here but they're incredibly practical and...
