I'm putting a console in my jon boat

Thanks for the reply Jim. I bought my motor new last year and it has the tiller handle. So I'm needing what it takes to remove the handle and install the remote steering and starting, shifting and tilting the engine. It' a 2020 Mercury (Tohatsu) 4 cycle EFI 25 HP, with tilt and trim.

I'm putting a console in my jon boat

It's a Lowes 1648. The motor is a 25 HP Mercury 4 cycle with tilt and trim. I've already bought the console. Now I'm looking for a steering system and outboard motor control? I've seen lots on Amazon and ebay. Will those work or will I need to buy OEM Mercury parts? Thanks

I got my pedestal seats installed in my jon boat

    I gave $90.00 for 2 - 24" x 24" 1/4" thick aluminum. If I had shopped around I probably could have gotten them a little less exensive.

I got my pedestal seats installed in my jon boat

First I cut 1/4" thick aluminum plate the size I needed on my table saw. After drilling and countersinking the holes in the plate I sanded them. I then drilled the ribs in my boat and inserted Riv-Nuts. I cut closed cell foam to fit under the aluminum plates. I did that so that things...

How I'm attaching my seat pedestals in my jon boat

I bought a couple 1/4" thick aluminum plates. I cut them to size on my table saw with a non-ferrous blade. I'm going to attach the aluminum plates to my boat with riv-nuts. I'll paint the aluminum plates and the pedestal bases the same color as the boat.

The boat dealer didn't set up my trailer correctly

The transom is resting on the bunker, maybe an 1/8" extra. I didn't want it out so far as to hit my transducer.

The boat dealer didn't set up my trailer correctly

The boat dealer didn't adjust the trailer bunkers correctly. They were too far to the rear. And the starboard bunker put my fish finder's transducer at risk. I don't have a crane so I had to come up with some way to raise the boat so I could remove the bunkers and move them forward. First I...

    New Lowe Aura 1648

I think I figured out the easiest way to fix this. I'm going to take my boat to a nearby lake and launch it. Then I'll pull my trailer to the parking lot. While there I'll unbolt the bunkers and move them forward a few inches.
