1988 Sea Nymph Fishing Machine (v-hull) Modding!

Thanks! Yes, I used Behr waterseal on the plywood (two coats) and several extra on the cut areas and sides. I had no problem with the carpet adhesive sticking at all. I did use stainless staples on the underside just to keep things tight and in place. As far as the tiller, I am able to reach it...

1988 Sea Nymph Fishing Machine (v-hull) Modding!

Well, I finally got some more work done on the boat thanks to the weather finally going in my favor. I painted the interior with some textured spray paint that seems to compliment the carpet nicely. All I need to do now is install my stainless hinges on the hatches and get the seat mounts...

    Installing carpet

When I did mine, I used marine carpet adhesive on the top side and then wrapped over to the under side. Once there, I stapled far too many time (never be too careful) with stainless staples. Good luck!

Amazing carpet for the price... purchased the 6' x 20' and wish I got the 8'6" x 25' for my 14.5' build. Goes quick with all of the cuts and what not. https://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/cb.aspx?a=650798

1988 Sea Nymph Fishing Machine (v-hull) Modding!

Thanks... haha! Actually, the plan was to use one for 'dry storage' and the other for the cold drinks. However, it's very possible they will both have cold drinks in them at one point or another

1988 Sea Nymph Fishing Machine (v-hull) Modding!

Almost there... just a bit left to finish. I wasn't planning to cover the coolers, but I'm thinking I am going to need to. I'd like to use some aluminum diamond plate material, but I'm not sure how thick it should be in order to support a person if they step on it. Any input? Here is the site I...

    Marine Carpet

Good feedback. Thank you. I'm looking at this stuff from SPG https://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/lancer-marine-lt-gray-carpet.aspx?a=650793 Not sure I could beat that price for Marine grade and in that length (6' x 20') anywhere else. When I checked for outdoor carpet at Home Depot it was...

    Marine Carpet

So I've searched quite a bit and seems most have a definitive opinion about marine vrs outdoor carpet. I've decided to go with grey marine carpet but am not sure where to get it from. Anyone have any first hand experience with the stuff from Cabelas, BPS, or West Marine? Any input is...
