ok guys I just bought (in May) this motor on CG for $100, sticking it on the back of my 1436 john.... its kinda scary fast, but I stay out of full throttle... When I bought it the previous owner said it had a new starter that only worked 4 or 5 times then quit working.... for $100 I grabbed the...

    1436 Fuel Tank Location

I think I already know the answer to this, but would the extended length of the fuel line pose any problems for the motor? I'm pretty sure it would not, but I'm trying to pull from someone's experience here. I have a 1436 and am fixing to build a small front deck to at least house the battery...

    Got my first boat ever

I built this bad boy for my Seaking 1432 flat bottom this summer... cost me just under $100 to finish it out. it works well....way better than I ever imagined. It is removable and takes all of about 20 seconds to set up/1 minute to tear down (mainly tucking in the camo netting)...

    anyone used alumiweld/durafix on hulls?

I bought some of the Harbor Freight rods (supposed to be the same thing).... and patched around some rivets.... I was a little skeptical so I went ahead and added some 5200 on the outside of the patch, sanded it down then painted it. No leaks, but I cannot attribute it to only the rods. I...

old beat up 16 Lowe convert to duck boat.

From what I have read, and at least in Texas, it is against the law to run electric fuel pumps on these type of old motors solely due to the fact that if the line becomes dis-lodged, or you sink the boat, or whatever happens... that electric fuel pump will not shut off and will empty the...

    New Ideas: 1542 MV

I think raising the floor would be alot of extra work, and if you are planning on using wood to do it a lot of extra weight to the boat as well. Seems like a whole of of work for an extra 6 inches. Everything else seems good. Since you arent using evey inch of space under your front casting...

Sea King Semi V-hull **Phase 1**

Take the shocks off of your trailer, measure their total length completely closed (compressed) and open. Also figure out the travel of the shock (open length - compressed length = travel) then take those measurements (all 3) and one shock with you to the Autozone/Oreilly's whatever you choose...

first tin v , need some help with modifying!

A great way to test/look for leaks (and to actually find those leaks) is empty the boat (except for the drain plug) and fill it full of water on the trailer and look for leaks... the only downside is you cant really catch fish in your driveway while checking for leaks....

THE SWAMP DONKEY- New Pics Paint/Floor/Electrical

Hey I was looking at your winch post and I just recently switched my "bump stop" (cant think of real name) from a rubber stop like you have to a flat 2x4 that is carpeted (this was a test fit picture)... it has really helped secure my boat to the trailer better. Its more surface area for the...

    1988 bass tracker

I have a Seaking 1436 that I hand sanded (not recommended) as per the directions, then bought the dupont bed liner kit (2 X $65) and rolled it on the inside of my boat. I primarily use my boat for duckhunting in the winter and fishin' in the summer but mainly for duck hunting. The bedliner made...

    270Handiman's 1649 Custom Flat Project

I have been looking at those exact stencils for some time, thinking of puttin em on my duck boat (a 1436) and I wanted to know how easy they were to do, and if you ran into a problem with paint build up on them, stencil giving you problems, or something like that.....Since you are now...
