Is the motor height going to be an issue?

Looking at your first post, Im thinking you might be a big guy? The riser should be your best bet but without using it hard to say how high. With where its at no big problems will occur, just know it deeper in the water.

Is the motor height going to be an issue?

Theres a few different homemade versions of risers...a few on this site, seen in the search. Have you been in this boat yet?

    Aluminum Console?

Not sure Im understanding your question. Do you want to use the aluminum as a ground for your devices?(not a good practice) Or do you just want to build a box to hold your fusebox , buss bars etc? (okay to do , no need to ground it)

Lithium battery - worth the expense?

Just got back from 2 days of fishing...off grid. Trolling for trout(approx.5 hours)and charging ipad and phones at night(usb) I bought a cheap DC House brand Amazon battery 12v 100aH. So far so good, just put it on the charger, said 13.5v around 50%...cheap chinese charger but again working...

    Yamaha 25hp 14ft semi-V rpm range question

I have an old 30hp Mariner(Yamaha 1987). Its either idling or WOT, very seldom do I run in between those 2 positions. I use 3 different props, depending on load, I like to stay in the high 5's. I think your fine at 5500. Also think an hour at WOT is fine or atleast I have never had an issue. I...

What Size motor for 17ft Aluminum

Not to much to add but nice looking boat, bet it cleans up nice. Old 2 strokes are pretty tough, like mentioned a compression check will tell you alot. For me the only reason to go to a 4 stroke is the noise on long runs and maybe fuel.

    Fuel water separtor

All gas stations around here now say may contain 10% ethanol. Im still using an old 2 stroke but think Ill buy a fuel water separtor(filter). Anyone using the cheaper Amazon ones?

What size outboard jet do I need?

I wouldnt want any smaller then a 40hp if propped...so 60 jet. Bigger hp maybe better on fuel, depending on gear(weight) I have know experience with jets, only what Ive read...keep this in mind.

    LiFePO4 Battery ?

Like the above post id say no... atleast I wouldnt,he batteries are too different. Ive done a bunch of reading and havnt heard of anyone trying it and everyone saying its not a good idea. A 100aH lifepo4 is going to outlast(time wise) the deep cycle battery your probably running now.(probably...

    Series or parallel

While he's right,as long as you dont go over the total voltages(running voltage) of the lights added together, should be fine. Im not 100% but shouldnt effect the brightness if you dont exceed that total voltage. 3 lights drawing 3v each total 9v so a 12v system should be fine in series.Im not...

    Series or parallel

Thought I knew what I was going to do but now Im wondering. Small little interior lights, hatches and such...series or parallel? Was thinking parallel but series(daisy chain) would be less bulky, easier to hide the wire. Series is fine as long as I dont exceed the voltage draw, correct? Both...

    1992 Polar Kraft MVT-1751 with a 1992 Evinrude 60 HP…my first tin boat project

Just binged read your entire post, good read....nice work. On my tunnel, 1 drain(port)is shut from the outside and the starboard side is done from the inside, probably because its a tiller. Ive opened it a few while running, normally in a hard rain...I have no bilge pump installed(1 in the shed...

Going after two free boats and motors?

Nice story, glad it worked out for you. The stuff looks to be in great shape, makes me think the boat you left was fixable. The boat barely looks used in the pictures.

    Best size/type Jon boat?

Do you have any boating experience? Not that you have to but you may not like how a jon boat handles or might not like the water at all. I bought a 1652 years ago for the same reasons as you and it has served me well. The kids are grown but I can still handle the boat easily by myself and the...

Another Dia vs Pitch Prop question

Was going to put a link for a tiny tach from Amazon but they look to be atleast twice the price of what they should be. There like 50 bucks non Amazon. There are cheap chinese knock offs for like $20, ive had one in the past, worked okay for me.

Another Dia vs Pitch Prop question

Those induction tachs are easy to hook up...tiny tach is a well known brand but others out there do the same thing. Its as easy as a few wraps of wire around a spark wire and attach a ground. Im pretty sure your rpm range is 5500 -6000 rpm and I agtee with others 15 pitch plus stainless is...

Another Dia vs Pitch Prop question

Do you know what your Rpm is? (You mention keeping it down) Rpm is the key when chosing a prop....without it we can get you close but a motor runs best at a certain rpm. They make little induction tach's that work pretty good, easy to install What do you have for a motor and boat? Edit...a 15...

    Mercury outboard discontinued spark plugs

How people interprut words in type varies. I have a hard time putting words to type so Inormally do it bluntly. It wasnt to nasty what you said, sure you could of softened it up a bit but it was just a statement(IMO) If he was legit, hope he comes back...no hard feelings
