    Unregistered and Untitled in Louisiana

i had a similar situation in massachusetts. but it was only a 12 footer. no title required. the state gave me a Hull ID number / sticker to go with the registration. for the trailer, i just needed the seller to put "previously not registered" in the bill of sale. did this for both the...

    Bassboy1 trailer tips article.

that's a neat idea with the lights on the guides. i might try that. i have a ford explorer. when unstrapping and preparing the boat to launch, i open the back hatch and keep it open. i use the mirrors a little bit, but mostly turn my head to the back as i can see the entire boat and trailer...

    wood and carpet question

i just re-did my bunks this week. i used standard 2x4's, the whole 8 foot length. i used carpet glue i had left over from the boat carpeting, and gray indoor / outdoor carpet i got cheap from a bargain store. wrapped the carpet around 3 times (for cushion) and glued it in between each layer...

    Fuse Keeps blowing

i have a similar issue. i recently purchased a 95 ford explorer to pull the boat. for whatever reason it isn't wired with a tow package. ford put a spot for a ball and chains on the back, but no wiring for the trailer. anyway, i wired in a harness to the tail light wiring in the left tail...

    transom question

the motor is just clamped on. i will definitely make sure i go far enough down without going to the bottom. i can't imagine the plywood will weigh too much more than the boards that are already there. but i definitely don't want to over weight it.

Ban on Lead Bullets and using lead in weights / lures ?

i believe massachusetts has already made this a law and it goes into effect in 2011. at least that's what the local bait shop told me.

    transom question

recently purchased a 14 foot semi v. the serial number indicates it was made in new york and registered with the state / coast guard as a home made boat. find it very odd, they did not add a drain plug, but thanks to this site i will be able to add one myself. i do have a concern when...

    Tracker 1436 help

i am doing the same thing with my 1448 semi v. what size toggle bolts are you using and what size hole gets drilled into the bench seat. i will assume the bolts are going through the carpet from the top. also, what about the foam under the bench? #1 - do i drill through that (about 3 inches)...

Ok here goes my question for customizing

also bass4ever, its not my intent to take over your post, lol. i just wanted to throw out the weight thing as something you should consider with a smaller boat. the whole front half of ours was decked to the top which can also change the way the boat handles. you should be ok just putting in...

Ok here goes my question for customizing

it was not a fun experience. i was out with my 12 y/o son. the wind picked up as a storm was coming in. we packed up and started heading across the lake toward the boat launch. about half way, i turned around and realized we had too much water in the back. told my son to put the life jacket...

Ok here goes my question for customizing

you also need to be concerned about the weight limit and distribution. i purchased this exact same boat from a guy that had already decked it from the front to the back of the second seat. the seats had been removed. tons of storage space, etc. great setup. until it sank last week. water...
