Bobberboy, did you remove the orientation bar so the boat would sit farther up the trailer?

Thanks for the pic and comments, luckily I'm not planning on adding an outboard so rear weight shouldn't be as much of a problem.

Hey bassboy, I was checking out the 1436 mod link of yours and noticed your comment about the HF and Northern Tool trailer kits being too short for a 14' jon. I just bought the Northern Tool kit yesterday and have it half put together. I plan on buying a Tracker 1436. I have zero metal working...

    Bait Caster Newbie

One of the things that sold me on baitcasters years ago was the difference in using them for spinnerbaits and crankbaits vs. spinning reels. With spinning reels the throb or wiggle would just be overwhelming. With a baitcast reel I could feel every rock and twig they'd bounce off of. Still need...

Right or left handed? Dumb question.

I figure most go with the right crank as a matter of convention and limited selection. I stii can't see why a right-handed person would want to crank with their strong and agile/coordinated arm.

Right or left handed? Dumb question.

Left-side crank all the way here. I tried right-hand crank baitcasters (in fact I have 3 sitting around useless now) but could never get the rod action correct for jigs and worms. The biggest problem is the selection of left-hand crank models is crap. You can either get a real cheap piece of...

    Powering a 14 foot Jon

I didn't want to bother everyone with a question that was almost the same as the OP so thought I might just put it here as it may help him answer his question as well. But yeah, it'll definitely be a 2 TM setup with the stronger one on the transom for puttering and the bow mount for fishing, so...

    Powering a 14 foot Jon

I have a similar question as the OP. I'm planning on getting a 1436 Tracker. I want to run the front TM with a 36# and am debating on a 55# 12v on the back vs. a 70#24v. IS it worth the extra expense in speed difference? IN either case, the TM's will be on their own respective batteries.
