    What is this in my gas tank?

    I forgot to mention that the gas gauge is a separate mechanism and is functioning properly so I don't think it is part of that. The pickup tube is a plastic tube that is slash cut with a mesh screen inside; it doesn't appear to be related to that either.

    Bolting Outboard on Transom

    I have a 30hp Johnson on a 1652 flat bottom. I finally got the motor height dialed in and now I need to bolt it down. The bolt holes in the transom bracket fall in a bad spot. Any ideas? Just drill them and make sure they are sealed good?
