At some pt the extra weight hanging off the back has got to cause an issue. Im all for big HP but a 500lb 200+ hp motor on a 1860.. So much for all the advice about "keep it light". Alot of guys running 1852 with a 60/40 just fine. As an example... Lowe, G3, and Xpress all have a Max HP...

The new MVX hulls have more deadrise than the old tracker jons. I believe they are 8° now. The pics look like it may cause issues with a jet foot. Something to look into.

Did you get the pods on the back and have you GPS'd it to see what top speed is?

Awesome. Thank you Heathyoung. Been going back and forth with the G3 or a SeaArk 2072. You may have just made up my mind for me. Hard to find any decent reviews on the G3's or any videos about them. Let alone since they upped HP rating to 115/80.

This is what 4 people plus decoys and gear look like in a 1756... Not sure Id wanna try 4 in anything much smaller.

Heathyoung.... What speed are you getting with the 115/80. How shallow will she run, and have you had any cavitation issues, and do you have any dislikes about ur G3?

Look at Tohatsu. They make a 25 and a 35 jet. 2 strokes! 35 is a 50 powerhead and the 25 is a 40 powerhead. Either one is lighter than any 4 stroke out there. I kno ur not concerned.... but with a 25hp that has a 40 powerhead ur still legal and with the lighter weight prob much better...

Looks like you are gonna need one if these. Much cheaper than a jackplate and it wont be set waaay back causing more spray.

They are kinda pricey but the new Tohatsu MD25 jet is actual 25hp at the pump. Its got a 40hp powerhead so it should be the most powerfull 25jet on the market. And its a 2Stroke so it'll spin up quick. Direct injected so it should do pretty good on fuel. Probably about like an optimax. Dry...

I was on the Mercury website this morning to compare specs agains yamaha and saw that they are now selling 90/65 and 115/80 fourstroke jets. The 65 is roughly 70lbs lighter than the Yammy and the 80 is nearly 100lbs lighter. Both the 65 and the 80 weigh 317lbs dry. Looks like its the same...
