    10' Jon boat....

No one has any thoughts on using JB weld out of 50+ views? Huh... oh well...

    10' Jon boat....

I submit to you, my entry into the worst picture ever contest!! Just kidding... really... I want to put a full casting deck on this boat, with a livewell, a 90HP outboard and captains chairs. I am just not sure if I should make the deck out of teak or plate steel.... Oh, sorry... just...

    14' 1970 Starcraft Seafearer

Oh man! I came here to post about my new project and see I never posted a picture of the finished project!! It was just me and the dawg, and it is not a great picture but you can see the compromise between a casting deck and a "floor"... it made for a nice fishing platform and we got our more...

    Decking-When and when not to.

Hey all, this is a terrible picture (It is more of my chicken $hit dog hiding in the bow) but it shows my first attempt at a "floor" and carpeting on a boat. I have since removed the staples that were a temporary measure to ensure the glue sets well... It is a Starcraft Seafearer...

Where and how to store rods??

That's pretty slick... we (My daughters and I) were looking at a rod storage solution yesterday. I am putting the carpet on new bench seats this week and I think I will "borrow" your idea :)

    Boat pedestal seat mounts

I got the swivel-eze... it was $15 for the extension, $15 for the base and $15 for the seat part... so about the same price.

    braggin rights

Hmmm.... I only have a trolling motor.... I would smoke a one armed rower.... :)

    fishfinder

My experience is that cheap fish finders are good at bottom depth... and, for bass fishing that gives me most of what I need to know. I do not think I can correlate any of the fish I have caught to fish on the fish finder but I can attribute most to knowing the depth, or more specifically the...

    Marine wire source?

6 gauge stranded wire? Where did you find it at HD? I looked and all they had was house wiring.

    Bumping out dents

Personally, I have fond memories associated with all of my dents :) They don't bother me, I don't bother them and neither of us leak :)

    14' Starcraft Seafarer Build

That's awesome. I have the same boat, I am just getting started. I picked up the last of the items I needed to get going... or at least that I think I need. It's a race to beat the melting ice!

    foam

What type of foam, and where do you put in? So if you were putting a floor on a boat would you put sheet foam (the 1" blue stuff) under it or something?

    14' 1970 Starcraft Seafearer

Mine is considerably narrower - 48" I am sure if this boat saw the sea there would be plenty of fear :) That is great to hear! We fish three or four small ponds so the electric trolling motors work awesome. I have the 8HP Evinrude that came with it, I just do not have much luck with outboards...

    14' 1970 Starcraft Seafearer

Measured at the transom the deck of the boat is around 36".... So I will use that as the starting point. I am going to get my hands on some cardboard and start making a template. I have to go to Vegas for a week on business next week but I hope to make progress soon! There may still be 2 feet of...

    14' 1970 Starcraft Seafearer

That makes sense. It is much flatter there... I will measure tonight. Leroy

    14' 1970 Starcraft Seafearer

When looking at the picture of my boat and the measurements, would you say the "floor" would be 24" wide as that is where the sides of the boat start to come up?
