Hey guys, tried searching this but not really coming up with the answer im looking for, or im over-looking it. Im going to be running two batteries in my 16ft jon boat. One for the trolling motor and the other for lights and fish finder. What are your recommendations for an on board battery...

Cutting wood supports for frame question

For those who used wood for their frames in their jon boats, in the front, the floor of the boat will slope up at an angle as you get closer to the front. My question is, what is the best way to get the angle needed for cutting your supports for your frame so it rests against the floor and be...

    Measurement question....

This seems silly, but for some reason I cant figure this out for the best route. ](*,) Jon boats are not perfectly straight down the sides. What is the best way or recommended way(s) to get your platforms cut so they fit your boat properly?? As well, what if your boat is wider than the...

    Finally Landed A Boat

There is wood for the clamp screws to touch as seen in the second pic. my concern is that they are not "flush" with the wood, part of the clamp screws are above the wood and its digging into the wood if i clamp them down. I fear that if i need to take the motor off and put back on, over time...

    Finally Landed A Boat

Ok, bringing her back to life. Been busy with life and work and had to put the boat on hold for awhile. But Im back at it. Got my motor for her and already ran into a problem with the transom. The wood for the transom does not go all the way to the top thus not allowing the motor...

    Carpet Adhesive???

I wondering if I can use the spray adhesive from Loctight or 3M to lay my carpet down?? The Loctight says its waterproof and one of the uses is for carpet. OR would I be better served to get the indoor/outdoor adhesive they sell in the carpet department?? IF I can go with the spray adhesive...

Tires in the cold winter outside question

Thanks guys. Yeah flat spots are not good. I may not have to deal with leaving it outside in the cold temps, but just wanted to cover my basis first. If I have to, I think I will leave the tires on and put it on blocks to keep them off the ground. Thanks again.

    LED rope lights for interior

Dybber, think of it this way, if you want to be able to see better to re-tie and things like that, the green is the way to go. Nothing wrong with red or blue, I personally think the blue looks awesome but so do the other colors. Also keep this in mind, the color of your carpet and hull, the...

Tires in the cold winter outside question

Hey guys, maybe Im thinking too much into this or maybe Im onto something. I may be moving soon and just wanted to cover all my basis with my tin. How much wear and tear does the cold have on trailer tires when left outside all winter? I've had the boat stored in the garage all this time and...

Stupidest thing you ever did on the water???

Back when I was younger (13 yrs old) I was fishing with my cousins(by marriage) and his son. We were in his v-boat boat and finished up a decent day of fishing. The boat was light enough that it could be pulled by a car. So with it being windy that day, I didnt feel comfortable putting it on...

    Finally Landed A Boat
