No. The 250 lbs. is the weight of the 4 kayaks and spare tire. The trailer is in the link below. GVWR is 1,980 lbs. When I add in the weight of the wood, etc. the trailer is probably about 350 lbs. empty, plus the 4 kayaks would make it about 600 lbs...

Thanks guys. The reason I asked is because I modified a 5' X 8' utility trailer to haul 4 kayaks. All 4 kayaks and spare tire weighs only 250 lbs. The tires are 4.80 X12.

I read that trailer tires should always be inflated to the max. cold pressure on the tire? Is that accurate? If so, what about when the load is very light, and you are experiencing a rough, bouncy ride? Thanks.

Thanks Barefoot_Johnny. What you show is what I used last season. But I don't have it screwed onto my tiller handle. It's too long to leave it attached like that. I use it on my kayak(Nucanoe Frontier 12'), and just slide it on and off. A sharp turn cannot be made with my extension though...

Does anyone use this with a Minn Kota Endura Max motor? I want to make sure it will fit over the tiller handle of my Endura Max motor, because the Endura Max handle is thicker than the Minn Kota motors used to be. Also, how do you like this product? Thanks...

Thanks Rich. Do you guys think the clips in the link below would be too tight on the battery post to disconnect if I fell out? They have serrated edges, which will grip pretty well. I'm also wondering if the force might rip the tether off of my vest before the clip disconnects from battery post...

Even if I didn't get run down by the kayak, the kayak would still keep going after the leash broke from the force. Does anyone think my idea would work or not?

Maybe "alligator" clip isn't the correct word. I'm talking about the spring clips that the Minn Kota trolling motors used to come with.

I'm reviving this thread because I never did this last fall. This is for a trolling motor I sometimes use on my kayak. If I use alligator clips to connect to the battery posts, drill a hole and attach a rope or tether to one of the clips, and attach the other end to my life jacket, wouldn't...

Thanks. It's actually a 4'X 8' utility trailer I converted for kayaks. What should I wrap the hubs with to protect them from snow, etc? If I wrap them, would that cause the hubs to rust?

Thanks guys. Wouldn't the tires last longer if I removed them and blocked up the trailer? With my other trailer I used to put old tires/wheels on for the winter, but I don't have extra wheels for this trailer.

Do you guys have any tips? Do you put blocks under the frame? I'd like to remove the tires and store them in the garage. If I do this, should I wrap the hubs with something? Thanks.
